Dead Island 2 was the long-anticipated sequel to 2011’s Dead Island. The game spent more than a decade in pre-production and development stages, changing hands between three studios before finally settling with Dambuster Studios.
The final product that was released in 2023 was surprisingly good. The game got all the basics right, and the zombie dismemberment and gore system was especially impressive. The variouslocales of Los Angeleswere well recreated with great art direction that made it feel very authentic. The decision to make these areas smaller sandboxes instead of one massive seamless map actually worked well in its favor.

While Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is just a slight step down from Human Revolution, it’s still a very solid game. It once again follows Adam Jensen as he navigates a world filled with fear and discrimination against augmented people. The game’s setting of Prague feels real and lived-in, with tons of side missions and hidden paths for exploration.
The writing is still sharp, with plenty of commentary on various political and social topics that drive the game. Mankind Divided still delivers that classic Deus Ex experience with expanded immersive-sim gameplay mechanics.

Dishonored 2 takes players beyond the gothic Victorian setting of Dunwall and into a more tropical location in the form of Karnaca. It greatly expanded on all of its predecessors' gameplay mechanics, with smoother traversal anda lot of new powers.
It also had some really impressive level and quest design in the form of A Crack in the Slab and The Clockwork Mansion, and the ability to choose between either Corvo or Emily for the entire playthrough, with each character having their own powers, did improve its replay value.

If you want to further more of the world of Dishonored, both the first Dishonored title and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider are also available on PS Plus.
After quite some time in development hell,2016’s Doom was very successfulin reviving and reinvigorating the franchise for a modern audience. It struck a perfect balance in being true to the 1993 and 1994 originals, whilst also simultaneously creating a fast-paced FPS horror that had an identity of its own.

Despite there only being three characters in the game - Samuel Hayden, Olivia Pierce, and the AI, Vega - the narrative was solid and always captivating. It did a great job of making you feel like you were on another planet that is being overrun by demons from Hell.
Dying Light launched in a somewhat rough shape back in 2022, noticeably lacking a lot of features that were present in 2015’s Dying Light, along with its fair share of bugs and glitches.

However, Techland has been busy updating and supporting the game consistently since then, and it’s now in great shape, with plenty of new features added on top of further refinements to its combat, parkour, and traversal. The original Dying Light did have a darker and grittier feel to it, with a better overall narrative, but this one’s worth playing, too.
Fallout 4is best enjoyed when you lower your expectations of it being an RPG and instead enjoy it as an action-adventure game with light RPG mechanics. When doing so, you come across an immersive wasteland filled with interesting NPCs and quests.

The factions and their leaders are interesting, and unlike Fallout 3, it gives you the option to side with certain ones of your liking and completely eliminate those that you dislike. There’s still sometimes a few bugs and glitches, but it’s nothing that mods can’t fix, consoles included.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is an amazing story-driven FPS game. None of the levels in the game overstay their welcome, and the game’s fast pacing has you visit various locations and kill Nazis in every single one of them.

The game has some solid writing and characters, especially in the badass protagonist, BJ Blazkowicz, who is surprisingly layered, and his inner monologues greatly develop his personality.
Both the spinoff and sequel, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, are also available on PS Plus.

Prey remains a very underrated gaming experience. As an Arkane Studios game, it has just a bit of shared DNA with other Arkane games, such as Dishonored, but it’s a whole different experience otherwise.
The game takes place aboard a space station that is overrun by mysterious shapeshifting alien creatures. The game gives you a ton of freedom in how you explore the station and deal with situations, and you also meet several NPCs and can choose to help them out and gather many survivors.
