The monsters inRepocome in all shapes and sizes, from the smallest little duckling all the way up to a massive floating head. Each level will randomly spawn a few of these monsters that you have to navigate while searching for loot to fill your quota so you can move on to the next level.

Every monster has its own set of behaviors, and the way you handle or avoid them will be different depending on which ones you’re dealing with. In this guide, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about every monster you will face to give you the best chance at survival.

A Group Of Five Duck Apex Predator Monsters In Repo.

Small Monsters

Sometimes the smaller creatures can be some of the biggest problems you’ll come across, but many of them can either beeasily avoidedor dealt with swiftly by justpicking them upand tossing them.

Bangers

They may be small, but they are a big nuisance. These skulls with feeteach have several dynamite sticks in their heads. Once they see their victim, the dynamite ignites, and they rush to crowd around the poor soul.

Because they’re small, you can’t hide from them under tables or shelves. The only way to deal with them is topick them up and throw them somewhere safe before they explode.

Five Of The Repo Monster Called Banger, About To Explode.

If you’re lucky, you cantoss them at a larger enemyto deal it some damage. But your best option is to just throw them as far away from you and your friends as you can.

Rugrat

This brat will find any and everything it can break. If it finds your cart,it will smash every item one by one,and also throw them at you, slowly damaging your health. If not dealt with soon enough, you’ll have a difficult time surviving and meeting your quota.

If you’re in a group of several players, three or four of you can pick up the Rugratand throw it against the wall to defeat it. You can also do the same with one or two playersif you have strength upgrades.

The Repo Monster Rugrat.

Weapons can also be used on this monster, likegrenades, melee weapons, or guns.

Spewer

These guys are more annoying than dangerous, butthey can also be beneficial in the right circumstances.

The Spewer floats around the map, spewing acid everywhere. If it finds you, it willattach to your face and force you to vomit acid. It also makes your voice in-game sound super deep.

The Repo Monster Spewer.

The acid can damage your friends and your loot, but itcan also damage other monsters. Depending on the other monsters on the level, you can use these guys to your advantage.

You can also hurt them by hitting them with a gun or melee weapon, or, if you have strength upgrades, picking them up and throwing them against a wall.

R.E.P.O. Apex Predator.

While the Spewer is attached to your face, your vision will be limited, especially when it’s spewing acid. This could make it difficult to seeother monsters sneaking up on you. I can’t tell you how many times I have been killed by other monsters this way.

Apex Predator

These cute little ducks are generally safeas long as they remain in cute duck form. Once someone touches it, or it gets damaged by other monsters (or from loot falling on it), it turns into a raging monster that can and will eat your face off.

The Apex Predator will choose someone as their “mommy” and will stay by that person, jumping up and down, demanding all the attention. You might see only one,but you could get groups of three or four at a time.

Two Of The Repo Gnome Monsters Looking At Me Under The Table.

As long as the Apex Predator never feels threatened, it won’t attack. If you have a gun or melee weapon, you should be able to easily dispose of it.

When the duck has chosen you, it will follow your cursor. You can use that to your advantage tolead it into a toilet to then flush it, or into one of the cauldrons on the Academy map. Once it’s stunned, you can justpick it up and throw it against the wall.

The Footprints Of The Repo Monster Hidden.

Gnomes

The Gnomes are, by far,the easiest monster to dispose of, but they can be real nuisances, especially if you’re near a larger monster that responds to sounds. But unlike other monsters, they don’t drop soul orbs when defeated.

Gnomes will either swarm you or your loot to cause damage, andthey’re small enough to find you hiding under things. The best way to get rid of them is to pick them up and throw them. Once they hit the ground or the wall, they will shatter on impact.

The Eye Monster On The Ceiling In Repo.

Though they can find you while crouched, if you go small by pressing Q,they won’t notice you that way.

Hidden

The Hidden is an invisible monster that is impossible to avoid. There are no warning signs when it is near, it will justsuddenly pick you up and drag you across the map.

You might get lucky andsee its footprints on the floorjust before it picks you up and carries you away. You’llhear heavy breathing while it carries you, and for a short time after it finally drops you.

The Robe Stalking A Friend In Repo.

The Hidden is fast and difficult to catch, but you couldtry to use either the stun gun or tranq gunto slow him down long enough to destroy him with a weapon.

After it lets go, don’t linger too long! Although the Hidden doesn’t damage you, not only could it pick you up again, but itmay have dropped you near a larger and more dangerous monster.

The Large Monster Called Headman In Repo.

Upscream

This monstrosity has ahuman-like face with long, spider-like arms. It scampers around like a spider, but when it comes near you,it will scream in your face. This will knock you back and stun you for a few seconds.

You can hide under furniture to avoid them, but awell-placed grenade or mineshould be able to easily take them out.

Eye

The Eye is another monster that can’t be avoided, butgetting away is easier than you might think.

This monster waits on the ceiling of a room for an unsuspecting victim to walk in. Once you enter the room, the Eyeimmediately grabs your gaze upwards and traps youin its stare and will slowly drain your health.

This can be hilarious to watch when it happens to a friend, as it willraise the trapped person’s voice to a high pitch.

If you’re by yourself when this happens, the only way to get away is toback away from the eye until you can block its line of sightwith a door or a wall. Once you’re free, wait a few seconds for it to disappear, then it should be safe to enter that room again.

In a co-op game, if a teammate is trapped by the Eye, tell them topress Q and go small, then you can pick them up and pull them away till they’re free.

Large Monsters

And now it’s time to talk about the bigger monsters in Repo Many of these are not only large in their physical size, butcan also do a lot of damage to your health. While a few of them are slow and can be avoided by crouching and hiding, others can be trickier to deal with.

Headman

Easily one of the more terrifying monsters, this enormous head with yellow eyes floats around the map, looking for anyone with enough audacity to stare at it.

If you’re paying attention, you might hear the slight sound of wind whistling when the Headman is near, orpossibly the clack-clack of his teeth.

When he attacks, he bares his teeth then charges at you, snapping his large jaw until you die.One bite deals 50% damage to your health. You can try to hide, but while he’s attacking, he’ll turn himself to try to reach you from wherever you’re hiding.

He is also very fast, and once he has you in his sights,he will chase you down. Unless you’ve maximized your stamina and sprint speed, you will not outrun him.

The best way to avoid him, if you know he’s near, is to hide anddon’t look directly at his face. Just wait for him to float safely away, then you should be able to get away.

The Headman has a lot of health, so I recommend avoiding trying to attack himunless you have really good weapons and have upgraded your stats.

Animal

Sometimes the Animalwill appear in groups of two or three, but once in a while you might get a solo monster. Though they’re ugly and get in the way, they don’t do a ton of damage. You can easily outrun orjump over these guys.

They are quite heavy, though, soif you want to pull one away or attempt to throw it, you’re going to need help. you may also easily attack them with melee weapons or throw grenades at them.

Shadow Child

While the Shadow Child is, by far,the creepiest of the monsters in Repo, avoiding it is super easy. You’ll know one is near when you hear a child’s giggle. Yourvision will also darken when the monster sees you.

The Shadow Child doesn’t float or walk, but it does teleport, sometimes appearing right next to youwhen you least expect it. As long as you don’t look at the monster’s face or get too close, you’ll be fine.

It is possible to damage the Shadow Child to defeat it, butyou would have to sneak up behind itand then use a melee weapon. A stun gun or stun grenade could possibly work as well,as long as you aim it right.

Chef

This frog is no prince but a chefwielding large sharp butcher knives. He hops around the map, and when he sees you heattacks with the knives like you’re on the menu.

You can easily avoid him by hiding under furniture andnot drawing attention to yourself. He can also easily be damaged with any weapon.

If you happen to have a Spewer nearby, just let it attach to your face andthen vomit acid onto the Chef.

Clown

This guy has large clown feet, a clown smile, and clown eyes. He plods along, patrolling the rooms and corridors of the map.

When he sees you, or something alerts him,he shoots a laser in a wide horizontal arc from the appendage on his head. A deep chuckle will precede the laser, which is a good way to know that he’s about to fire, giving you a few seconds to get somewhere safe.

Sometimes the laser can reach under furniture, so bemindful of where you’re hiding when it fires.

If you get too close to him, and he’s alerted, he willtry to grab you and hit you, which can do a lot of damage. The Clown is actually easy to avoid as long as youstay out of sight and wait for him to leave.

Bowtie

This guy looks like theabominable snowman wearing a red bowtie. He lumbers around the map, shaking the ground as he walks. When he sees you,he’ll become a large fan, blowing you back. After he’s done, he’ll stampede through the rooms, destroying anything, and anyone, in his path.

Like many of the bigger monsters, he’s easy to avoid by just crouching under furniture and staying out of sight. However, you’re able to kill him with just about any weapon.

Robe

Sometimes called “Mother” or “The Nun”, The Robe is just that,a large black robe with a white face. It moves slowly around the map, and is easy to avoid if you know it’s there. All you have to do ishide and don’t make eye contact.

If you make eye contact, the Robe willscream and charge at youwith the claws it was hiding under its robe, dealing a large amount of damage.

This monster also has a lot of health, so damaging it will be tricky. One of the best ways is touse the duct tape grenade, which you’re able to find in the secret shop room.

Trudge

This monster looks likesomething you’d find guarding a dungeon with a lava pit. He’s mainly black and red, with a couple of eyeballs in different places on his body.

Although he’s big and scary and his weapon packs a wallop, he isactually extremely easy to avoid. He walks very slow, and can’t see you if you’re crouched and hiding under furniture or shelves.

The ground shakes as he walks, so you’ll know when he’s near, giving you a chance to hide.As long as you remain hidden, you’ll be fine.

Huntsman

This man is probably the most hated of all the Repo monsters. Although he’s blind,he has impeccable hearing, and can pinpoint his target with precision just by sound.

All sounds will alert the Huntsman. Talking, robot voice, walking, other monsters, even the noises that the items makewill cause this trigger-happy monster to shoot first and ask questions later.

When you know you’re dealing with one or more of this monster, your best option is to mute your microphone, and crouch-walk everywhere, and make as little sound as you possibly can.As long as you’re silent, he won’t know you’re there.

If you have a duct tape grenade, sneak up behind the Huntsman, arm and drop the grenade, then scamper away to safety.

Reaper

The Reaper, who’s sometimes called “Swords For Hands” or, my personal favorite, “Edwina Scissorhands”,is the opposite of the Hunstman with her senses.

She’s deaf and can’t hear a thing, so sneaking behind her is agreat way to avoid her blades. But if she sees you, it’s over. She’ll scream and charge at you with her sword arms slashing furiously. Even hiding won’t save you,as she’ll just break whatever you’re hiding under.

Once she sees you, your best chance is to run away, and then hide. Once you’re out of sight, she’ll usually stop her rampage.

Mentalist

The alien monster floats around the map in a meditation pose. If he sees you,he creates a zero-gravity field, which will lift you and whatever items around you up into the air.

However, he won’t let you down as gently as he lifted you. After a few seconds of floating, he thensends everything crashing to the ground, damaging your health and any items in your vicinity. Once you’re caught in his field, there is no escape. You just have to hope he doesn’t take all of your health.

You can throw a grenade at him and run, or sneak up behind him and hit him with a melee weapon. He doesn’t have a lot of health, so a well-placed grenade or mine will take him out easily.
