Iron Ore’s value is hardly unique toRunescape: Dragonwilds. Crafting games of all kinds place a high value on it, and not for no reason; iron’s importance throughout human history can scarcely be overstated. Besides, the acquisition of Iron Ore is just as important in the original Runescape as it is in Dragonwilds today.
Where can you find Iron Ore in Runescape: Dragonwilds, though, and what will you need in your possession in order to crack those veins and stash a bunch of it in your pack? That’s what this guide aims to tell you - let’s hop to it!

Where To Find Iron Ore
Iron depositscan be found in theStormtouched Highlands. This is a region of Runescape: Dragonwilds' world situateddue west of the Fractured Plains.
To put things in perspective a bit, getting there fromthe starting areameans hiking northbound throughBramblemead Valley, further north through the relatively narrowWhispering Swamp, more north still into theFractured Plains, and then westbound beyond that large area.

In short, don’t try to get there at the beginning of the game, as you’ll be facing off against foes that are too powerful to handle until you’ve bulked up a good bit.
Follow the lengths of mountains in the Stormtouched Highlands to locate those iron deposits.
How To Mine For Iron
Mining the iron deposits requiresat least a Bronze Pickaxe. To craft a Bronze Pickaxe at anAnvil, you will needBronze Bars, Oak Logs, and Leather. With a Bronze Pickaxe, you can not only mineIron, butSilver, Gold, Granite, and Sandstoneas well.
You can also useRocksplosionto acquire Iron, although this is obviously a more limited-usage approach. Best to craft a Bronze Pickaxe, regardless.
Since the iron ore deposits are so rampant throughout the Stormtouched Highlands, zeroing in on precise locations is a bit fruitless; you’ll find them with ease. Butthere are an especially significant number of iron ore deposits along the northwest edges of the region, so do check there.
As Runescape: Dragonwilds develops, there will likely be further sources of Iron in future updates. We’ll keep you apprised of newfound veins!
