When you get past the first dungeon inRusty Rabbit, the start of Smokestack Mountain might feel a little dull since you won’t have any of your abilities and the enemies won’t be particularly challenging. However, as you progress, the world gets a lot more dynamic and dangerous.
One of these dangers comes from various status effects that can be applied to you in different situations. Each status effect makes a specific change to Junkster, which can be very detrimental in certain situations. To have a better time while digging in the mountain, it’s important to learn everything about these effects.

What Each Status Effect Does
As you play through different regions of Rusty Rabbit, you’ll encounter a total offour different status effects: Stun, Impair, Stall, and Power Leakage. The first one is applied when you fall from a certain height and take a bit of fall damage, while the other three are given to you by enemies or environmental hazards.
The most common sources forStall, Impair, and Power Leakage are spiders, snails, and rhinos respectively. Here’s what each status effect changes for Junkster:
Stun
Both of these have the same effect on Junkster, and they essentially reduce your movement in multiple ways. Apart from reducing your normal movement speed, it also prevents you from using the dash and thrusters.
Stall
Impair
When you get applied with the Impair effect, your damage from all weapons is reduced massively. You’ll have a hard time defeating even small enemies when you have this effect.
Power Leakage
Finally, Power Leakage makes Stamplose five HP every few seconds until the effect goes away.
You can see the current status effect applied to you along with itsduration above your HP bar on the bottom left.
If another status effect gets applied to Junkster while one is active, the new effect will replace the old one.
How To Counter Status Effects
The obvious way to counter all status effects in Rusty Rabbit is by simply avoiding them. Thrusters can be a massive help to avoid Stun while you have topay attention to enemy projectiles to avoid the other three effects. However, you’re bound to get some of these applied to you, especially during boss battles.
One way to counter status effects is by using various status effect removal kits or an all-purpose kit. Theformer remove a specific effect instantly while the latter fully heals up Stampwhile removing the status effects.
These kits can be quite difficult to come by in the late game, so it’srecommended to use them only in dire situations.
Apart from this instant method, there are two ways to generally lower the impact of status effects on your character. The first one is byupgrading various skills to permanently reduce the time they get applied for. You can find skills to lower the enemy-afflicted effects at the bottom while Stun can be reduced by upgrading the Shock Absorption skill on the top right.
Other than that, you’re able to also reduce the time of enemy-afflicted status effects by crafting various additional parts for each respective effect. You can get their blueprints from Diner conversations, but you have limited additional part slots, making it hard to use these.
