Summary
The march to this year’s Go Fest has already begun inPokemon Gowith the current Might and Mastery season not coming to an end until the Go Fest weekends have already begun this June. There’s something to look forward to long before then though with the announcement that two morePokemonwill be making their Go debuts later this month.
Niantic has revealed which Pokemon will be making their Go debuts nextvia an updatedetailing what trainers can expect from this month’s Bug Out event. The biggest takeaway from the update is thatSizzlipede and its evolved form Centiskorchwill be appearing in the wild in Pokemon Go for the first time.

Sizzlipede will start appearing in the wild whenthe Bug Out event begins at 10 am local time on June 18, 2025. Centiskorch will presumably appear in the wild too, but far less frequently. Niantic has also confirmed you will need 50 Sizzilipede candies to evolve the Bug/Fire-type into Centiskorch, so even if you don’t find its evolved form in the wild during the event, it should be easy enough to harvest enough candy to evolve one.
Pokemon Go’s Bug Out Event Will Introduce Two More Gen 8 Bug-Types To The Game
Prepare To Welcome Sizzlipede And Centiskorch To The Real World
Even though Sizzlipede and Centiskorch are far from the first Pokemon introduced viaSword & Shieldto find their way into Pokemon Go, even after they’re added later this month, more than half of Galar’s Pokemon will still be missing from Go. Impressive that there are still so many to go with Gen 8 ‘mons first appearing in Pokemon Go almost five years ago.
The Bug Out event will be about more than just Sizzlipede and Centiskorch, of course. Throughout the event, which will come to an end at 8 pm local time on July 27, 2025, trainers will get double XP and more candy for nice throws. There will also be an increased chance of finding various Bug-types and their shiny variants in the wild including Wurmple, Joltik, Dewpider, and Nymble.

There will also be field and timed research to complete during the event, and the option to pay $2 for some exclusive timed research, one of the rewards for completing it being encounters with Kleavor, Heracross, and the debuting Sizzlipede. You will also be able to buy Sizzlipede boots for your avatar. I’m assuming they’re an homage to the Bug-type and not made out of them. That would be dark.
Niantic previously detailed what trainers can expect from this year’s Go Fest, making some big reveals about a festival debut and another Pokemon finally leaving the safety of its City Safari events. Volcanion is the Pokemon making its debut, and Skiddo will finally start appearing worldwide after previously being locked to safaris.
