Summary
Coming acrossanimecharacters who are strong enough to destroy an entire planet is quite rare. However, Battle Shonen anime tend to continuously raise the power ceiling with each new antagonist, meaning the longer a show runs, the stronger its characters become.
This often leads to characters who barely have the power to destroy a building ending up with powers strong enough to wipe out entire planets. Some characters might not be able to disintegrate the planet, but they would be strong enough to wipe out all life and end the world.
8Ryuk
Death Note
Ryuk is a Shinigami who can take the life of any human he wants. His job is to write people’s names on his death note and take their lives. As a Shinigami, Ryuk can see every person’s lifespan and name on top of their heads. While his physical abilities are unknown, it’s safe to assume he’s not strong enough to disintegrate a planet.
However, he most certainly can end the world by wiping out all life. In that sense, he is also capable of completely destroying a planet. To top it off, no one will be able to stop Ryuk because he’s essentially invincible.
7Koro Sensei
Assassination Classroom
Koro Sensei was an alien who gave his students a chance to assassinate him within one year, or he would destroy the Earth. Koro Sensei is fast enough to move at Mach twenty speeds and has already shown destructive powers that can destroy the moon.
A planet is certainly much larger than a moon, but you have to remember that Koro Sensei’s destruction of the moon was merely a threat. It’s more than likely that his upper limit could be much higher than just being able to destroy the moon.
6Kageyama Shigeo
Mob Psycho 100
Mob is anesperwith hidden abilities that have incredible destructive powers. In one of the fights, Mob is taken inside the dimension of an old spirit. This dimension completely mirrors the real world, with people and buildings.
At the end of the fight, Mob not only turns the city upside down but destroys the whole dimension. This goes to show that Mob has the power to destroy an entire planet. While he may not be able to do it normally, reaching ???% will likely give him enough destructive power.
5Alluka Zoldyck
Hunter X Hunter
Alluka Zoldyck has an unknown being residing in her body, called Nanika. This creature seems to have come from the Dark Continent of the Hunter X Hunter world, with immeasurable power that has no limits. Nanika can grant any wish if you fulfill her requests, as she seems to control reality with her unlimited powers.
It’s only logical to assume that if Nanika wishes it, destroying a planet or two would be no issue for her. However, Alluka herself doesn’t have any physical strength or even combat abilities. So, it’s unknown whether she would be able to survive the planet’s destruction or if Nanika would save her.
4Ichigo Kurosaki
Bleach
Ichigo being able to destroy a planet may come as a surprise to some. After all, the most destructive power he has shown is only equal to destroying a small town. However, it’s undeniable that he has more than enough energy to destroy a planet or even the solar system.
Ichigo is as strong asYhwach, who has enough power to destroy three realms as large as planets, potentially even larger. It is also stated that a Soul King can destroy the world. Since Ichigo was also a candidate to be the Soul King, it’s only logical to assume that he possessed enough power to at least destroy a planet.
3Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto
Naruto, as an adult, fights alien Otsutsuki beings that quite literally eat planets. Even before that, he fought Toneri on the moon. During the fight, Toneri launches an attack strong enough to split the moon in half. However, Naruto is able to survive that attack and then defeat Toneri in one shot.
Naruto was not even using his Six Paths powers in this fight, showing just how strong he is. If he gathers the Tailed Beasts' powers, Naruto will definitely be able to destroy a small planet like Earth with relative ease.
2Saitama
One Punch Man
Saitama is often in the conversation for thestrongest anime character. He is an incredibly overpowered protagonist who can no longer feel the excitement of battles because they’re too easy. Of course, if Saitama wanted to, he could easily destroy a planet with a single punch.
Saitama was so strong that he punched away Boros' strongest attack, which was going to destroy the Earth. Moreover, Saitama was launched all the way to the moon. However, he managed to jump back to Earth in an instant, leaving a massive crater in the middle of the moon.
1Son Goku

Goku has always been known as the standard for destroying planets. Even at the very start of Dragon Ball Z, he was strong enough to fight off beings that destroyed planets as a pass time. By the time Goku reaches Ultra Instinct in Dragon Ball Super, he is strong enough to destroy the whole universe.
Every time there is talk about a character being able to beat Goku, the conversation usually starts with whether that character can destroy a planet or not. That is essentially the bare minimum you need to be able to stand in the ring with Goku.
