While they thought it would be funny, they were surprised to learn that they got a reaction. In fact, the reaction was so chilling that they instantly regretted it. The incident revolves around Arabella in the Emerald Grove.

I then proceeded to drop Arabella’s body at her mother’s feet. I was not expecting anything to happen. Maybe a change of dialogue when I next spoke to her.

There are evil runs where you kill everyone, and then there’s this. Thankfully, OP realised that they may have taken things too far. However, the impressive thing is that the devs accounted for this. Usually, you’d expect a game not to react to such a specific action, but the blood curdling scream means that Larian had something prepared for if the mother saw Arabella’s body.
