Summary
Ubisoft recently released apost-launch roadmapforAssassin’s Creed Shadows, detailing the game’s upcoming updates and expansions. The roadmap specifically concerns Shadows' first year of release.
The first major milestone on the roadmap has just been added to Shadows, a new free story pack called “The Works of Luis Frois.” Players will primarily remember Frois for his participation in the Jesuit mission, for whichYasukeacted as a bodyguard.

A Man About Jesus
The pair went their separate ways after Yasuke entered the service of Oda Nobunaga, with Frois settling in Kyoto. They did reunite briefly to discuss the samurai and templar Kimura Kei, but Frois ceased playing an important role after this particular quest. The new story pack re-involves the historian, as he seeks a favour from Yasuke.
Luis Frois was a real-life Jesuit who preached in Japan, famous for his writings on the Sengoku Period, the period in which Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place.

“An encounter with Luis Frois at a Jesuit Mission turns into an opportunity to help an old friend,” the quest blurb reads. “Retrieve lost notes, protect Lady Satoko and learn more about the Jesuits in this new free Story Pack playable with both Naoe or Yasuke.”
The quest can be started by speaking to Frois, located south of the Merchant’s Quarters in Azuchi. The quest can only be started after dealing with the aforementioned Kimura Kei problem, i.e., completing the quest “The Path He Walks”.

The update also adds several new character entries into the game’s Codex, allowing the player to keep track of the many characters they’ve interacted with throughout their time in Japan.
The next update is scheduled for late May and is set to add major parkour changes and an update to photo mode. The next story pack is scheduled to release in June, adding a new recruitable ally, new difficulty settings, the option to enable headwear in cutscenes, new “gameplay immersion options”, and an open-world alarm system.

The roadmap also promises general updates, such as codex updates, store drops and community-requested features. The Claws of Awaji expansion is also set for release later in 2025.
