Summary

InBaldur’s Gate 3,Wyll’s storylinerevolves around theWarlockpact he has with Mizora, which compels him to do her bidding or face consequences. In return, she bestows him with his abilities, which he uses to do good throughout his adventures.

If you play as a Warlock, you’re in a similar pact, but your patron ismuchless involved. No, they aren’t going to rock up and tell you to kill Karlach, and give you devil horns if you refuse. Poor Wyll really does get the short end of the stick there.

Now, we have a mod that makes you patron much more of a presence in the story.Involved Warlock Patrons (WIP)by Nexus Mods user GamezPro will give you tasks from your patron, which you have to carry out to get rewarded. It adds an additional layer of roleplaying if you choose to be a Warlock, as well as giving you the perks for completing the tasks that you’re set.

This Mod Gives You A Very Demanding Warlock Patron

Well, not as demanding as Mizora, at least

As the name of the mod makes clear, this is all a work in progress. The version that has been shared only gives you basic tasks, with your patron ordering you to deal a particular type of damage in combat before you rest for the day. If you do as they command, then you’ll start the next day with an additional spell slot.

In updates, the mod author hopes to add more tasks, rewards, and make it all vary based on your patron. Better yet, they also hope to add punishments for ignoring the tasks, just as we see with Wyll if he refuses to kill Karlach.

If you’re looking for a similar experience to this without mods, you’ll probably want to play as a Paladin. This gives you an oath you have to follow to keep your abilities. Since all classes got a new subclass in the latest patch,a new oath was added too: Oath of the Crown.
