Summary
Larian Studiosmay have shippedBaldur’s Gate 3’s eighth and final patch, but that doesn’t mean the studio is completely done with its mega-hit. Larian has just released Hotfix 30 for Baldur’s Gate 3, addressing a couple of bugs that have lingered since the release of Patch 8.
“A small hotfix is now rolling out, bringing multiple cross-play fixes and patching up some instances of crashing,” the post reads. “Certain betentacled individuals will now be more amenable to having their picture taken — give us a smile, petal!”

The post continues, “While Patch 8 was the last major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, we will continue to release small hotfixes addressing bugs in the game.” A game as large and as complex as Baldur’s Gate 3 will inevitably have a few bugs, so addressing all of them could be a Sisyphean task for the skeleton crew Larian has left on Baldur’s Gate 3.
The cross-play fixes are focused on issues arising from players trying to join cross-play lobbies, as well as common bugs associated with disconnecting from and reconnecting to cross-play lobbies. Patch 8 was the first patch that introduced full cross-play to Baldur’s Gate 3, so bugs are likely to crop up for some time yet.

Speaking of Patch 8 bugs, the “betentacled” nod in the body of the post is in reference to a bug where the mindflayer versions of Tav and/or origin Karlach refuse to appear in photo mode. If I turned into an illithid monster, I probably wouldn’t be too fond of getting my picture taken either.
There are a couple of minor subclass bugs that have been addressed, such as “the chance to inflict Hexblade’s Curse on a hit no longer increases every time the Warlock uses Bind Hexed Weapon,” and a Circle of the Stars druid can now access additional wild shapes (Deep Rothé, Panther, Owlbear, Dilophosaurus).

Larian is currently working on two projects simultaneously, and Swen Vincke is hoping to releasethe first of these two games by 2030.
