Summary
Never say that developers don’t check forums. After releasingBattlefield 1almost a decade ago, Dice has heeded and addressed a minor complaint put forward by a Reddit user.
Owners of Battlefield 1, at least the ones who have the game downloaded, were met earlier today with a 384-byte update that changed something very small. In fairness, Battlefield 1 still has a dedicated base of players, holding an average of around20,000 concurrent playersthroughout the day.

Game Changer
It all began with a thread byEinereinste, who pointed out the trademark symbol in the title of Battlefield 1 on Steam was placed after the 1, rather than after Battlefield, as you’d expect. That’s all that the recent update addressed - it moved a trademark symbol. It also shows that developers from Dice must frequent the game’s subreddit, but that isn’t surprising in this day and age where incorporating player feedback is a big priority for developers.
A peculiar aspect of this change is that Dice isn’t consistent with the placing of its trademark symbol. Battlefield 1 isn’t the only game where the trademark occurs after the number rather than the series name - Battlefield 4 has the same problem. The fact that Dice addressed the problem in the title of Battlefield 1 and not the title of Battlefield 4 is baffling.

When Dice isn’t addressing the minor complaints of Reddit users, it’s likely working on the as-of-yet unannounced Battlefield 6. The studio is currently playtesting its next title through Battlefield Labs, a collaborative effort with the community to get the series back on track after a disappointing entry in Battlefield 2042. For context, Battlefield 1 averages 10,000 more concurrent players a day thanBattlefield 2042on Steam.
Predictably, several clips of the play test have leaked online. While Dice probably isn’t too pleased with the leaking, the team is probably happy to hearhow well these leaks have been receivedby the community. There has already been praise for Battlefield 6’senvironmental destruction, and the general feeling of the combat.

Battlefield 6 has yet to be announced officially and as such doesn’t currently have a release date.
