Most of the unique room types inBlue Princehave a set function - red rooms activate debuffs, you can spend coins in shops, bedrooms increase your steps, and orange rooms are corridors - but green rooms tend to be a bit more unique.
As well as having more specific spawn conditions, they tend to have a more varied pool of effects, too. While green rooms are technically associated most with gems, they’ll do more than just impact this resource. So, when considering which of these wild card rooms to spawn, which should you prioritize?

8Patio
Standard
The Patio can actually be one of the mosthelpful rooms in Blue Prince, but only after you’ve drafted a handful of green rooms already. Once you draft the Patio, it’ll spread gems to all the other green rooms that have been drafted, but this won’t carry over if you draft any new green rooms after the Patio.
If you’re low on gems and have a bunch of green rooms already, then the Patio is a no-brainer, especially since it tends to have a few items lying about, is a useful corner shape, and also has some dig points. However, if this is one of your first green rooms, it’s better to save until later in your run.

7Courtyard
The Courtyard is one of the most common green rooms in Blue Prince, and it’ll probably be one of the first you come across. Only costing one gem, it’s a great option for maneuverability since it has three doors.
On top of this, it also tends tohave items lying about, plenty of dig spots, and also has a higher likelihood of a locked trunk showing up as well. If you’re low on gems and have other similar options in the draft pool, then maybe pass up on the Courtyard, but if you need some room to breathe, then it’s a suitable contender.

6Morning Room
Rare
The Morning Room is one of the easiest green rooms to miss in Blue Prince since it has such niche spawn conditions. You’ll need to have drafted the Kitchen, and then eat the Bacon & Eggs (if it’s even available), and only then will you have the option to spawn the Morning Room, and even then, only on the edge of your house.
It is worth drafting if you get the chance, though, since not only will you get two gems from the room, but it’ll also ensure that you start the next day with two more gems as well. On top of this, it’s also a corner room, so a good option if you want to change direction.

5Terrace
Despite being a dead end that you can only draft right on the edge of the manor, the Terrace manages to be one of the best options for a green room, thanks to its useful buff.
You might have noticed that most green rooms require at least a small gem cost to be drafted, and the Terrace is no different, but after it’s been drafted, every other green room will have its gem cost nullified for the rest of the run. This makes managing your gems a lot easier, and also makes some of the more costly green rooms much more viable for the rest of your run.

4Cloister
Unusual
Even though the Cloister has such a simple design, it’s a room that you’ll likely want to spawn as much as possible, especially later on in your runs, thanks to the simple fact that it has four doors.
The room has a high three-gem cost, but this shouldn’t be too troublesome if you’re later in your run, and if you have the Terrace already, then this cost will be nullified. Even though it seems that you aren’t able to reach the middle of the room, there is a secret method to getting there, but the hint is inside a different room.

3Greenhouse
Even if the Greenhouse is a dead end, it’s one of the most useful thanks to its design and what’s hiding inside it. Once you’ve drafted the Greenhouse, you’ll have a better chance of green rooms showing up in the draft pool, making it incredibly synergistic with rooms like the Terrace that nullify the cost of green rooms.
On top of this, there’s also a good chance that you’ll find gems lying about in this room, and if you have a broken lever, you’ll also be able to use this room as a method of unlocking the Antechamber.

2Veranda
The Veranda, like most green rooms, will only show up in the draft pool if you’re on the edge of the manor, but it’s well worth drafting if you get the chance, especially if you haven’t drafted that many green rooms already.
Even if the Veranda costs two gems to draft, it makes up for this by increasing your chances of finding items in other green rooms, saving you from having to buy them in shops. On top of this, the Veranda also has a high chance of having floor drops already, and thanks to its corridor shape, it’s a pretty useful addition, if only because of this.

1Secret Garden
Despite being one of the hardest standard green rooms to spawn, the Secret Garden is one that you’ll always want to draft if given the option. Unlike other rooms, the Secret Garden doesn’t show up in the draft pool, and instead, you’ll need to have already acquired a Key To The Secret Gardenearlier in your run.
To create the room, you need to find a locked door that’s pointing towards the east or west wing of the house, and instead of using a standard key, use the Secret Garden key. Not only does this room open an entrance to the antechamber, it has a high chance of items lying around and spreads fruit around the manor, making it much easier to keep on top of your steps.
