Forever Skiesis a big game with many mechanics that can overwhelm a new player. From gathering resources to exploring the vast open world, there is a lot that you will miss. you’re able to easily get stuck doing monotonous tasks that don’t go anywhere because you haven’t unlocked new items.
It doesn’t hurt to have some idea about what to do in the game, whether it’s about how to build a proper airship or learning where you can get different resources. Here are some tips that can help you get going on the right direction in the game.

Do Not Rush The Main Quest
When you start, it’s easy to treat the main quest as a checklist and just follow it without exploring or building up your airship.Don’t rush the main quest; it’s designed for you not to rush it, sincesome areas are locked behind mechanics or upgrades to your tools or ship.
Explore the huge open world and expand your ship’s facilities, and you will have an easier time tackling the main quest later on. There are a lot of things that you may unlock that will make your life easier in the game, so fly around and look for them.

Scan Everything
When you go to a new location, the game shows you on the upper left of your screen how many new objects you can scan. Scanning is one of themain ways you’ll get new research ideas for new items for your airship. It’s important totry and scan everything you canin a location before moving on.
When you equip your Scanner, the game will often highlight objects that you haven’t scanned before. These can range from new resources or materials to upgrades for your backpack and airship. So keep that scanner ready and charged whenever you go to a new area.

Store Everything On Your Ship
To progress through the game, you’ll need resources, and you’ll need storage to put all your resources and loot in your airship. At the early parts of the game, you’ll be limited to just small storage boxes, but later on, you’ll want tomove to Hanging Cabinets and later Storage Crates, which have more space.
Remember to place all of your loot in your ship, sincecrafting stations can pull the resources out of storage without the need for you to get them. Your Suit Printer also uses resources inside storage just as long as you’re stepping on your ship, be it inside a room or a catwalk.

Be Aware That Food Spoils
One of the things you might want to stockpile is food, butmost of the food in the game spoils within a couple of in-game days. The game wants you to only collect and cook food when you need it, but there are a few ways of storing it indefinitely without using a fridge, which is in the late game.
A way to save food for later is to simply not pick it up.Food in cookers, catchers, and garden pots doesn’t spoil until you pick it up. That means you can just keep them there until you need to cook them. When food does spoil, don’t throw away the spoiled food. It can be used to create Organic Fertilizers, which can speed up plant growth when farming.

Spoiled food can also be boiled in a cooker to get an Overcooked Meal, which you can eat without any problems.
Resources Only Spawn In Specific Locations
Not every location on the map has all the resourcesyou need to craft items. Some resources can only spawn in specific locations. For example, copper can only spawn in Windfarm locationslike Desolate Turbines or Rooftops.Silicon can be found floating around or at lower levels on metal struts.
Most plants can be found in Garden or Underdust locations, whileEnergy Crystals can be found in the Underdust or when a Colossal Lifeformsare found on the radar.

Don’t Skip On Farming
When going through the main quest, it’s easy to neglect your airship or just build what you need. This can work in the short term, but later on, you’ll want to do some farming.Farming will let you get resources that can be used to craft important items like Plant Resin that you’ll need to make storage crates.
Some of the plants that can only be found in the Underdust can alsodrop seeds that you can use to farm them. No need to go back and forth to the Underdust if you can just grow them inside your airship.

Build Smart For Smooth Travel And Passive Resources
While making a beautiful airship depends on the person looking at it, there are some ways that you may make things easier to get around them.Keep your ship thin so that it’s easier to fly aroundthe map. When expanding the balloon, it’s best to expand the backso you have a clear space in front of your cockpit.
When trying to land at a location, it can be annoying since you may’t sometimes see the back of your ship.To make things easier, build a ramp at the front as shown above.

This saves you some resources if you don’t want to make a Docking Plank since that item uses mid-game materials.
Gathering resources can be monotonous and boring, somake sure to make buildings that will passively gather materialsfor you. Buildings like Rainwater Collectors or Deck Extractors can help a lot in filling your storage with materials.

Turn On Ingredients Auto Crafting
Crafting ingredients for items or furniture can be annoying, especially if you have to do it over and over again. To save time and effort,go to your Settings and then the gameplay tab. At the bottom, activate the ‘Ingredients Auto Crafting’ option. It will automatically craft ingredients as long as you have materials.
