The CR-56 AMAX returns inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6 ‘slatest season. This iconic weapon from MW2019 can now be used in Multiplayer, Zombies, and even Warzone. And this weapon hasn’t aged a day, featuring the same low TTK potential as its original version. Low recoil, high damage, and clean iron sights make this the ideal assault rifle for an aggressive player.
Today, we’ll be looking at a couple of builds that push the CR-56’s potential to the max. We’ll be looking at a stealth build for general play and a long-range dueling configuration for players who prefer to fight others from a distance.

The AMAX is a fantastic assault rifle for mid-range duels, so we’ll be speccing this weapon for a little bit of everything. TheMonolithic Suppressorwas tailor-made for Warzone, increasing your weapon’s range and bullet velocity while keeping your shots off enemy radar. It does come with an ADS penalty, but we can mitigate this with aQuickdraw Grip.
A magazine attachment is mandatory for Warzone, so we’ll be using theExtended Mags Ito give this weapon a 45-round magazine. Equipyour favorite mid-range optic,and you’ll have a strong build for most situations. We use our fifth attachment slot on aVertical Foregripto remove all horizontal recoil, although feel free to use any other attachment in its place.
Loadout Recommendations
Since you’re only using five attachments here, you’re able to safely run theOverkill Wildcardto rock a second primary weapon in your loadout. For perks, you’ll want to use Ghost to stay off enemy radar while moving, synergizing with your suppressed weapon. Enemies with Birdseye will counter Ghost, so keep that in mind.
Your other two perks are mostly down to preference.Mountaineeris always a great option if you’re an aggressive player, substantially reducing fall damage to the point where you can fall multiple stories and take minimal damage.Cold-Bloodedis great if you hate fighting enemies with the Awareness perk. Otherwise, we suggestQuick Fixto plate one-handed.
This gunfighter build is focused on making the CR-56 AMAX a strong long-range option. We’re using theGunfighter Wildcardto increase our attachment limit to eight, allowing us to comfortably spec for range and mobility without compromising on recoil control.
We use theCompensatorandRanger Foregripto effectively eliminate this gun’s recoil pattern, making it a dream to use on both M&K and controller. Once again, aWillis 3x opticis used to make tracking targets significantly easier. AnInfiltrator Stockis then used to drastically increase your strafe speed while ADS. This does result in more reticle bounce than usual, which we eliminate entirely with aTarget Laser.
If you aren’t a fan of lasers, feel free to drop the Target Laser for Recoil Springs or Overpressured Rounds.
For long-range duels, you’ll need aLong Barrelto extend the weapon’s effective range to 68 meters. Finish the build withany Extended Mags attachment and the Quickdraw Grip.
We use theGunfighter Wildcardto give the AMAX eight attachments. Your choice of perks is far more flexible since we aren’t using a suppressor here.Birdseyeis a fantastic pick in the third column, countering Ghost entirely.Quick FixandMountaineerare still our picks for the other columns to promote a more aggressive playstyle.
