The iconic FAMAS assault rifle from previous titles is back inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6. This version is a fully automatic assault rifle with a fast rate of fire, solid base damage, and low handling stats for its class. It’s effectively an AR/SMG hybrid that excels up close, although with the right attachments, the FFAR 1 can also dominate from a distance.

Today, we’ll be looking at two builds for the FFAR 1 that make it a fantastic option in both Multiplayer and Zombies. One build focuses on raw recoil control in Multiplayer content, while the other uses the Gunfighter Wildcard to fix this weapon’s poor mobility stats, turning it into the ultimate close-range rifle.

The FFAR 1 is located onPage 6.It will take at least 29 unlocks before you may unlock the FFAR 1, as you’ll need 22 tokens to unlock the sixth page and an additional seven to claim the weapon itself.

Once Season 4 ends, the FFAR 1 will be added to the Armory system. You’ll be able to unlock the weapon by earning XP while the FFAR is selected as your current Armory unlock. Armory challenges can be found under the “Challenges” section of the Barracks tab.

Pros And Cons

The FFAR behaves closer to an SMG than a proper assault rifle, featuring below-average range stats and a blistering-fast fire rate. Using this weapon past medium range is ill-advised, but you can make it work if you focus onrecoil attachments. You’ll want to runRecoil Springson virtually every build since it gives a whopping 20% recoil reduction across the board, making the FFAR far more consistent at a distance.

This weapon also has some serious vertical recoil, so we suggest using aCompensatorto effectively remove recoil climb. There will be a slight bit of side-to-side recoil on this gun, but so long as you’re keeping gunfights to the 30-meter mark, you’ll be fine. Past that, use aLong Barrelto buff your range falloff, theQuickdraw Gripto counter the weapon’s lengthy ADS time, andExtended Mag Ito reduce reload frequency. This magazine attachment doesn’t come with any downsides, so it’s always worth using.

Stealth Variant

If you don’t mind added recoil, you can replace the Compensator with a Suppressor muzzle. Pair this with the Ghost perk to stay off enemy radar.

Loadout Recommendations

Aggressive weapons like the FFAR perform best with theEnforcer SpecialtyEnforcer Specialty, allowing you to heal and gain a speed bonus after each kill. We recommendScavengerto offset the weapon’s poor ammo economy,Hunter’s Instinctfor a second red perk, andSlipstreamto ignore tactical sprint-to-fire delays in combat. We recommendPerk Greedto run a fourth perk of your choice; we recommend Flak Jacket or Ghost.

Equipment is mostly down to preference.Stimsare always useful for getting a quick burst of healing during a gunfight.Combat Axesare also solid if you can prep the weapon beforehand. For your Field Upgrade, run aTrophy Systemin objective modes.

This is a variant of our previous build thatimproves mobilityand accuracy. All five previous attachments are used here to mitigate the weapon’s recoil. ARanger Foregripremoves horizontal recoil from this weapon and improves your sprint speed. Your ADS strafe speed is somewhat slow by default, but you can fix this with anInfiltrator Pad.Finish the build with yourfavorite red dot optic.

This is also a great build for Zombies. Consider swapping Recoil Springs for Rapid Fire if you need more DPS in higher rounds.

Once again, the Enforcer Specialty works best here. We highly recommend you runSlipstreamto improve your movement speed across the board. While you lose access to tactical sprint, the sprint buffs from Slipstream and the Ranger Foregrip will make you just as mobile as an SMG.Scavengerwill allow you to restock on ammo and equipment from kills. Throw on your favorite red perk in the second column to activate the Enforcer set bonus.
