Marvel Rivalsbrings together plenty of iconic heroes and villains in a fast-paced, team-based shooter. Its various characters open up a lot of options for strategy and teamwork, and this is properly reflected in the game’s passive abilities.

Most characters have a passive that either activates individually or when another required character is on the team. While some passive skills only have a minor bonus, a good number of these offer some worthwhile upgrades that drastically improve that character’s skill and usefulness.

10Queen Of Hel

Hela With Thor Or Loki

Not only is Hela one of themost powerful hitscan charactersin the game with a dangerously high base damage, but the Queen of Hel team-up passive ability grants her a worthwhile 15 percent damage boost on top of this.

This passive activates when you have either a Thor or Loki on the team. When Hela lands a final hit on an enemy and eliminates them, this instantly resurrects Thor or Loki if they are currently in the respawn phase, or grants them 50 bonus health if they are still alive on the map.

9Disc Master

Magik With Black Panther Or Psylocke

Disc Master is Magik’s passive ability, which activates when either of the two best hunters in the game, Black Panther or Psylocke, are on the team. This grants them the ability to tap into Limbo and rewind back time for three seconds to a previous location while also providing them with bonus health based on the health difference.

This is especially useful for Black Panther, as he doesn’t have as many abilities to quickly get in and get out of certain situations, unlike Psylocke with her invisibility skill.

The Disc Master passive also gives Magik a 15 percent damage bonus.

8From Shadow To Light

Cloak And Dagger With Moon Knight

Cloak and Dagger’s passive ability, From Shadow to Light, triggers when there’s a Moon Knight on the team. It grants the latter character an ability named Full Moon, which makes him invisible for a few seconds, all while allowing him to attack enemies as usual.

Additionally, it grants Moon Knight some decent healing, with 25 points healed over six seconds for a total of 150 health points. This has a not-too-long cooldown of just 30 seconds, making it a solid ability.

Hawkeye display in Marvel Rivals.

7Archer’s Focus

Hawkeye

Hawkeye is pretty lethal as is, but his Archer’s Focus passive ability is a game-changer when going for non-headshot hits. This passive increases the base damage of his arrows by an additional 70 points as long as they’re fully charged.

While aiming at an enemy, this only takes one second to charge fully and is easy enough to pull off in the heat of a battle. This means that Hawkeye deals 150 damage for a fully charged non-headshot arrow that’s aimed at an enemy.

Just two of these fully powered body shots are enough to take down most non-tank enemies in the game.

6Friendly Shoulder

Groot With Rocket Raccoon Or Jeff The Land Shark

Groot’s Friendly Shoulder passive ability greatly enhances an already strong tank character, so long as you have either Rocket Racoon or Jeff the Land Shark on your team.

This passive ability gives both Rocket and Jeff a chance to hop on up on Groot’s back, giving them a damage reduction bonus of 35 percent. Additionally, Groot receives 150 bonus health as long as either character is tagging along on his back. This is a solid combination for offensive scenarios.

5Regenerative Cocoon And Soul Perserverance

Adam Warlock With Star-Lord Or Mantis

Adam Warlock has two super-useful passive abilities. Regenerative Cocoon is a solo passive that turns him into a cocoon and lets him revive himself after getting eliminated, although this does have a lengthy cooldown of 105 seconds.

Soul Perserverance, on the other hand, is a team-up passive ability that activates when either Star-Lord or Mantis is on the team and grants them the same bonus as Regenerative Coccoon.

Namor details in Marvel Rivals.

This passive also grants Adam Warlock a 15 percent overall healing bonus.

4Icy Disco

Luna Snow With Namor

Namor is a character that is great to have on your team, but not so great when a foe. Luna Snow’s passive ability, Icy Disco, gives Namor a third charge of the Monstro Spawn, with this icy variant being more powerful than the normal ones.

This one additional charge makes a worthwhile difference; compared to the normal Monstro Spawn, as this lasts for two seconds longer, has a hundred more health, deals ten more points of damage, and slows enemies by 30 percent for one second.

These Monstro Spawns can be really annoying when in the hands of a pro player who knows how to perfectly position and hide them away from the enemy line of sight.

3Covert Advance

Invisible Woman

Covert Advance has to be one of the best and most useful passive abilities in the entire game, drastically improving the feasibility of Invisible Woman as a healer, along with her survival skills.

This passive ability lets her enter a state of invisibility just a few seconds after disengaging from combat. It also rapidly heals her at a rate of 20 points per second. Invisible Woman can also become, well, invisible anytime by double jumping, although this has a six-second cooldown, unlike the Covert Advance passive, which is limitless.

2Cryo Heart And Smooth Skate

Luna Snow

Luna Snow’s two passives are a big reason for her survivability and consideration as one of the absolute best healers in the game. The Smooth Skate passive lets Luna skate on the floor, increasing her movement speed by 60 percent and really helping with those clutch-healing scenarios.

On the other hand, Cryo Heart restores 30 of her health points over three seconds for a total of 90 healing. This activates anytime she uses her Ice Arts or Absolute Zero abilities. These two abilities also heal Luna on her own, so combining them with the passive buff heals her massively in just a few seconds.

1Elastic Strength

Mister Fantastic

Mister Fantastic’s Elastic Strength feels like more than just a passive ability, as it’s abig part of his entire character kitand playstyle. Using various of his abilities fills up his Elasticity meter, which then inflates and turns him into a tank for six seconds.

In this state, he gains 450 bonus health, a 20 percent movement boost, and 70 bonus damage for his Stretch Punch primary attack, drastically enhancing his capabilities as an offensive character.
