To face off against the Paintress and all of her creations, you’re going to need the best weapons you can get your hands on inClair Obscur: Expedition 33. However, with all the abundance of gear you can find in the fractured Lumiere, how are you going to know which weapons are going to fit best for your type of gameplay, and which ones are going to fail your expedition?
Of course, with these types of lists, you’re going to take these with a grain of salt, because it all boils down to how you want to build your party and your playstyle, but these weapons off great versatility as well and party synergy, and who knows, you might have found a new weapon you didn’t think about adding to your arsenal until now.

10Elerim
Earthy, Yet Versatile
Found in the Sinister Cave, this earth weapon gives Lune a boost in her earth-based skills, such as Tremor or Terraquake, and also provides her with a shield every time an earth stain is used, while also giving every earth skill a 20 percent boost at level 10. Finally, the last passive lets her generate an Earth Stain any time she performs a base attack.
One bonus that comes with using this weapon is that a lot of her ice skills get a bonus with Earth Stains. Take Typhoon, for example. It does high ice damage and decent healing to the entire party, but only for three turns. Give it two Earth Stains, and it increases from three to five turns.In secret boss battles, which can become fights of attrition, it can make them a lot easier.

9Dualiso
Double Turns, But At A Cost
It’s a striking weapon, with its bright, purple blade matching its lightning affinity. When you find yourself facing off against the Dualliste in the Flying Manor and remain standing, this is your reward. Fitting, as it’s reminiscent of one of its blades. When equipped, these weapons encourage you to focus on your base attacks.
The level four passive lets Verso attack again after a base attack, while the level ten passive increases his damage by 50 percent. The level 20 passive gives him 4 perfection. The better his perfection rank, the higher his damage. Unfortunately, even maxed out, this weapon can be outclassed by others at later parts in the game, but can hold you over for a long time until then.

8Ramasson
A Great Support Option
While Sciel doesn’t have the same level of healing as Lune, she can provide ample support in other ways that can assist in mitigating a lot of damage, if your reflexes can manage to keep up. Ramasson is found in the Flying Manor and after defeating the Greatsword Cultist.
Once you do, you’re left with a scythe that, when a Moon charge is consumed, can heal an ally’s health for 20 percent at the level 4 passive. Both the level ten and 20 passives give Sciel another moon charge, giving her another opportunity to build her foretell up as well as another opportunity to heal another ally in the party.

7Ballaro
An AP Distributor
Monoco has the least number of weapons in the game. Maybe it’s to offset the number of legs he has to collect throughout the game in exchange, but it makes them a little harder to get. However, when you do, they’re pretty worth it. Ballaro is a light affinity weapon, and you can find it in Sirene’s Dress and other places.
The first passive at level four is negligible: you may reverse the Bestial Wheel order, but since it’s random either way, it’s kind of irrelevant. The next two passives are where this weapon shines. The level 10 passive guarantees one AP for all allies if you use an Upgraded skill (a skill that matches the Bestial Wheel), while the level 20 passive gives two AP anytime the wheel lands on Almighty.

6Barrier Breaker
Situationally Powerful
Upon the party’s preparation for their fight against The Paintress, Maelle gains the power to break the barrier to gain access to confront her face-to-face. You gain it by defeating the two giant axons located on the Visages and Sirene islands, respectively. Just as the name implies, its entire kit revolves around breaking barriers and stealing shields.
While all the rapier’s passives steal shields, level ten focuses on getting Maelle to Virtuose Stance, while level 20 will break all of a Marked enemy’s shields. This is overpowered if you’re facing any enemy that is dealing with a shield, especially a Chomatic boss, but when they don’t have it, then you’re just left with raw power. It’s great, but situational at best.

5Choralim
A Powerhouse For The Parry Proficient
A unique weapon you get quite late in the game, it’s well worth the wait,ifyour parry game is up to the challenge. Choralim is obtained in Sirene’s dress, an area you can only get to by flying. It’s a fire affinity and gives Lune a significant defense boost once equipped.
Once obtained, the passives are all about giving Lune severe attacking and crit power, again,ifyou can manage to parry and keep her from taking damage. At level 10, she gains a 20 percent increase in damage given for every round damage-free, and at level 20, every critical hit she lands, no matter if a base attack or a different element, will cause a burn to occur.

4Brulerum
Bringing The Fire From The Inside
Yes, this is a weapon that youget extremely early in the gamein Flying Waters, but since Maelle fights primarily with Fire for a large chunk of the game, its utility is longer-lasting than you’d think it’d be. Most things do still burn, after all.
Both the Level four and Level ten passives are dedicated to quickly building up stacks of burn on the enemy as fast as possible, applying up to three stacks of burn at once. However, its level 20 passive, while seemingly innocuous, makes full use of her Stanceless stance by granting all attacks in that stance a 100 percent chance at a critical hit. There’s nothing wrong with Stanceless on its own; it’s a neutral stance, but you can never say no to a guaranteed crit.

3Sidaro
Taking Control Of The Bestral Wheel
Once Monoco is at your party, you soon learn that he is banned from Gestral Village. So, naturally, you take him straight to the village chef (yes, chef, not chief), and it’s an immediate fight on sight. Win, and this is your prize: a dark affinity weapon and permission to walk around the village again.
Its unassuming appearance hides some overpowered passives. For starters, its level four passive gives Monoco a 30 percent increase for every upgraded skill used, with no cap in sight. Meaning, if you’ve got the AP and matching skills on your wheel, you’re able to buff him for as long as the fight lasts. His level ten passive lets you use a Free Aim attack to change the wheel to another value, while level 20 gives one AP to all allies any time you use an upgraded skill.

2Chation
The Power Of the Sun, For The Price Of Pain
This weapon is one of the most abundant weapons in the game, strangely enough. You can find it in the Stone Wave Cliffs, near Old Lumiere, in The Monolith, and in the Flying Manor. Once obtained, you’ll find that it’s a dark affinity weapon, so plenty of light-based enemies will be hurting soon.
Each Sun skill you use will automatically apply 10 Foretell to the enemy you attack; however, be mindful of any incoming attack, because if you get hit, you’re taking double damage. It’s worth it, though; the more Foretell the enemy has on them, the more damage they take.

1Simoso
Almost Invincible
To even get this weapon,you have to face insurmountable oddsthat, in the spirit of the game, shouldn’t be spoiled here, but it’s deep within Act Three, and well worth the journey and fight deep within. It’s a true test of skill and reflexes, and your reward is a light affinity weapon that does some unique things for Verso.
For starters, any damage Verso deals with skills will also deal light damage on top, while the level 10 passive gives a 20 percent chance for any light damage to apply burn. The kicker, though, is the level 20 passive: once Verso hits Grade A Perfection, he can’t die. So long as he maintains an A, he can keep living. Good luck, Expeditioner.
