First up:Bleach Rebirth of Souls. Thefirst Bleach console game in well over a decadeis finally out acrossconsolesandPC, helping kickstart what should be a big year for anime fans, asHunter x Hunter: Nen x ImpactandDemon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 also set for release later this year.

However, if you were planning on playing Rebirth of Souls on PC, it seems like you’re better off waiting. That’s because within hours of its global release,the game debuted at “Mixed” status on Steam, with some going as far as to call it “unplayable.”

Things Aren’t Looking Good

As of this writing,of the 1,790 reviews for Rebirth of Souls, only 46% are considered positive, meaning the other 54% are firmly in the negative space. Specifically,players are claiming the PC port is poorly optimized, with swaths of bugs, crashes and other imperfections impacting their playing experience.

“It’s not a good PC port, and pretty much unplayable,“one review read in part. “Avoid it for now. As a long-time Bleach fan, I’m very disappointed.”

Other reviewers are claiming thatmusic is not playing properly and that the tutorial section may be bugged. One reviewer noted that they supported anime games, even knowing that they are sometimes of low quality, but just couldn’t stick with Bleach. “I’ve bought my fair share of anime games and even if they were bad, I refused to refund because I wanted to show support,“they wrote.

That said, it appears that a good game could be tucked away under all the bugs and issues. “The characters have unique gameplay styles and mechanics that I really think sell this game’s individuality,“a user wrote.
