Sit down and let me tell you about sitting down in theBoulies EP300 ergonomic chair.I’ve been familiar with Boulies since 2023, so I was eager to test this newer model aimed at offering positive comfort for work, relaxation, and whatever else you want to do in a chair.

However, my past experience with Boulies is that, while the chairs were good, they didn’t feel especially high quality, despite encroaching on the price range of some bigger-name brands. I was curious to find out where this chair would fit, considering its £289.99 asking price.

As of writing, there is a sale deduction, marking the price as £254.99.

Is The Boulies EP300 Easy To Assemble?

While I’ve had a few experiences building chairs that take a little more time and effort to construct, getting the EP300 operational was fairly straightforward. I had this one set up in about 20 minutes, which made for a refreshing change when I was fully prepared to get way too warm going back and forth from the booklet trying to find the next screw I needed. With only 11 screws total, it made it pretty simple.

The parts, while as weighty as you’d expect for a chair like this, still had that same budget feeling from my previous Boulies experience. Not cheap or low quality, by any means, but noticeable when compared directly to brands such as Noblechairs, and something I knew to expect from the brand this time around.

Is The Boulies EP300 A Comfortable Chair To Use?

But how ergonomic is this ergonomic chair? Well, pretty ergonomic, I would say.

The EP300 is a much more comfortable chair than most gaming chairs, and even Boulies’ premium Master series. I found the chair was soft and cushioned for long-term comfort, with a wide seat offering plenty of room. The backrest has excellent lumbar support, with adjustable height to fit varying body types.

The headrest, though an appreciated addition, felt a little disappointing. Despite depth adjustments, it didn’t feel like it came close enough to fully support my head or neck when sitting up straight, and leaning back to reach it never felt natural. As a result, I opted just to ignore it for the most part.

Is The Boulies EP300 Ergonomic Chair Worth The Price?

For a chair with a close to £300 asking price, it’s a solid, if slightly budget, feeling chair. It looks professional in its simplicity with a solid black design, and lacks any of the flair that comes with flashier gaming chairs - and your mileage will vary on whether or not that’s a good thing. It’s comfortable for longer periods with sufficient support, though the headrest isn’t the most well-positioned in my experience.

There are plenty of adjustments possible with the chair, from reclining to altering the depth of the seat itself, while the backrest height and armrest positioning are not done via locks or mechanisms, instead just opting for a latch system. This resulted in my accidentally jolting the position of the armrests at times, while one of the six plastic latches for the backrest seemed to snap off, either before or after assembly. It didn’t affect the functionality at all, but it didn’t instill me with confidence.

If you’re looking for a simple, professional, and ergonomic chair, and this falls within your budget, then it’s a solid choice. If you find others on the market for a similar price with alternate features or from bigger names, though, it’s worth weighing your options, as the Boulies EP300 doesn’t make a strong enough impression for me to give it a heartfelt recommendation over any alternatives.

I’m not left with much bad to say about it, but I’m not left with much to say about it at all.
