Last Epochhas five distinct classes to choose from, each with three Masteries that you unlock shortly into the campaign, granting new skills, passives, and build options. Last Epoch’s skill tree system allows for infinite customization, as you can make almost any skill your main one, and more often than not, get through the campaign with whatever you choose.
Last Epoch has tons of viable builds and playstyles to choose from, but some are definitely better than others. Below, we’ll take a look at how each of Last Epoch’s Classes and Masteries stack up against one another.

Last Epoch Class Tier List
Almost every Class Mastery in Last Epoch hasmore than one viable build, with some focusing more onspeedfarming Echoes, where others are more concerned withfighting bosseslike Uber Aberroth. This tier list will take every build into consideration, so thatclasses in S-Tier are the strongest in multiple content categories, while classes in lower tiers may be better in one than another.
This tier list is based on the balance of the game as ofSeason 2, so things may change in the future.

Sorcerer, Runemaster, Bladedancer
S-Tier Classes
Classes in this tier have either multiple strong builds, or a single, extremely strong build that sets it apart from other classes.
Reasoning
Void Knight
Has several strong builds for Corruption and bosses, the strongest of which being theErasing Strikebuild that has no problem clearing everything the game has to offer.
Falconer
Has two strong builds (BallistaandUmbral Blades) that perform extremely well in all types of content, and a few other builds that are almost as strong for even more variety.
Beastmaster
Storm CrowsBeastmaster is incredibly strong for both boss fights and high Corruption, but several other decently strong builds are available.
A-Tier Classes
These Masteries are still very strong, but have less overall stand-out builds than those in S-Tier, or specialize more in one type of content than being proficient at them all.
Necromancer
The Necromancer’sAbomination-focused build is very strong in most content types, but doesn’t have many other top-tier builds.
Paladin
Thanks to the Sentinel updates in Season 2, the Paladin has several strong builds, so it has a variety of playstyle options, but it’s just ever so slightly outclassed by the Void Knight.
Marksman
The newly introducedHeartseekerskill offers a powerful build option for the Marksman, but other Marksman builds don’t perform quite as well, keeping it just out of S-Tier.
Spellblade
The Spellblade’sShatterstrikebuild is great for boss fights and decent in high Corruption, but
Lich
The Lich’sStygian Coalbuild is very strong for all types of content, but it’s the only thing keeping it out of a lower tier due to a lack of powerful alternatives.
Forge Guard
Has a number of powerful builds that aren’t necessarily as strong as the Void Knight or Paladin, but this Mastery’s build diversity more than makes up for it.
B-Tier Classes
Classes in this tier are similar to those in A-Tier, but are either outclassed by Masteries of the same class, or are only strong in one type of content.
Shaman
The Shaman’s two most popular builds,TornadosandTotems, are decently powerful, but not as strong as other options, even within the Primalist class.
Druid
The Druid’s one popular build,Lightning Swarmblade, is decent for high Corruption and bosses, but the Mastery doesn’t have many other builds going for it.
Warlock
Similar to Druid, the Warlock’sTormentbuild is very strong for speedclears, but struggles in other content where the Acolyte’s other Masteries do not.
C-Tier Classes
These classes are primarily concerned with quickly clearing Empowered Monoliths, but don’t necessarily do well in high Corruption or boss-fighting content.
Sorcerer
Limited number of good builds, with its strongest ones only really being good at speed clears.
Runemaster
In a similar position as Sorcerer; doesn’t have any strong builds for high Corruption or boss fights.
Bladedancer
Very good for speed farming low corruption Monoliths, but is outclassed by Falconer, even with builds with a similar playstyle like Umbral Blades.
