The days of Cyberpunk 2077’s underpowered and frankly broken PS4 and Xbox One ports seem to be long behind us, but that fear popped back up recentlywhen it was revealed that the game was going to be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 via an “Ultimate Edition”. With the Switch 2 reportedly being comparable to a PS4 in terms of power, many have been worried about how it would perform.

CD Projekt Red Isn’t Worried About The Past Repeating Itself

While hands-on previews have already made it clear that Cyberpunk 2077’s Ultimate Edition is a good fitfor the Nintendo Switch 2, CD Projekt Red has now commented on the port to ease any worries about it.As pointed out by VGCandoriginally reported by GameFile, CD Projekt engineer Tim Green was recently asked about how the Switch 2 port stacks up.

In response,Green noted that the Switch 2 port has been “able to build on top of that already solid base”, seemingly referring to the original version of the game we saw on PS4 and Xbox One. Green said that development still had its challenges, but that CD Projekt was careful in “picking tradeoffs to not compromise the game’s vision”.

Regarding the Switch 2 version’s specs, Green said that Cyberpunk 2077 is targeting 1080p resolution in the quality docked mode and 720p in handheld performance mode, which sounds surprisingly stable. The handheld version will even support DLSS, which is rather impressive when you consider the size of Cyberpunk 2077.
