Summary

Split Fiction is filled to the brim with references to other games, fromAssassin’s CreedandSonictoSSXandDark Souls. But that’s not the only Soulslike that Hazelight Studios pays homage to in itshit new co-op game.

As pointed out by u/Resident_Ad6308, you’re able to find a near-perfect recreation of the Roundtable Hold, the iconic Elden Ring hub which we’re also returning to inNightreign, towards the end of the game.

You can find this spot in Level 7: The Hollow, which is especially fitting given that the undead in Dark Souls are called Hollows.

It’s an almost 1:1 replica, with a dazzling light of grace illuminating the table above the central cluster of swords, complete with the colossal stone statues littered along the surrounding wall. So accurate, in fact, that it has clearly been burned into Zoe’s memory, meaning that she played far too much Elden Ring while trying to think up her next novel.

Does This Mean Zoe Is Tarnished?

Since Zoe can see Grace, that must mean she’s Tarnished. Ignoring that this is a) just a fun easter egg and b) at most, plucked from her mind, not that Elden Ring is real in the Split Fiction universe or that she can actually visit the Lands Between, then that means Zoe is one of the few chosen who can rise up against the gods and… die to Radahn. Over and over and over again.

Granted, Zoe and Mio are a formidable pair, so maybe they could take down Radahn and eventually Radagon and the Elden Beast. Zoe probably has, seeing as she was playing hundreds of hours of Elden Ring while staring blankly at a Word document. But now she can do it with her new pal Mio.
