Summary
Fortnite’sStar Wars-themed Galactic Battle season is almost upon us, and turns out even those who frequent Fortnite Festival have something to look forward to as well. Two songs from the original trilogy will be added to the game’s Jam Tracks rotation this Friday to usher in the start of the new season.
Shared by Shiina, the two Star Wars songs joining Fortnite Festival’s playlist this Friday will bethe Imperial March and Lapti Nek. Both will be the versions of the songs performed by John Williams and The London Symphony Orchestra, and both will sound fantastic on a playlist wedged between Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso and Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo, I’m sure.

If you’re currently thinking ,“Wait, isn’t Imperial March Darth Vader’s theme? No, that can’t possibly be what’s being added,” don’t second-guess yourself. You are, indeed, correct. The Imperial March is one of the most iconic themes in cinema, debuting during the original Star Wars trilogy and a track that plays to signify the arrival of Darth Vader.

On the one hand, I have no idea how that’s going to translate to theRock Band-like setting that is Fortnite Festival. On the other, I can’t wait to dive in this Friday and find out. Lapti Nek is a lesser-known Star Wars song, but one many of you will likely be able to place once I tell you it’s the track being performed by Max Rebo’s band in Return of the Jedi.According to GameSpot, it will be the original version of the song from the 1983 movie and not the special edition version which leaned heavily on CGI.
There will be a lot more than Star Wars Jam Tracks added to Fortnite when the Galactic Battle season kicks off on May 2, of course. Some of the characters from a galaxy far, far away that haven’t been turned into Fortnite skins yet will finally be added to the game, including General Grievous and Poe Dameron.

Before you get upset that the Cantina Theme isn’t a part of this drop, there’s a reason for that - it’s already in there.
There will also be an in-game screening of the first two episodes of a new Star Wars animated show called Tales of the Underworld, and Epic wants as many of you dressed as Stormtroopers for the event as possible. The First Order Stormtrooper skin is being given away for freeto celebrate the start of the new season, and all you need to do to have it show up in your in-game locker is connect your Epic and MyDisney accounts. It’s free and easy to set up a MyDisney account if you don’t already have one.
