Summary
A new Evanescence music video has revealed the first look at Season 2 ofNetflix’sDevil May Cry, including a new look for Dante and the introduction of his most iconic weapons.
When it was first announced that Netflix’s next big gaming anime adaptation was going to be Devil May Cry,the reaction was a mostly positive one. Dante has already proven that he can work in an anime setting with Madhouse’s adaptation andNetflix’s Castlevania managed to revive the series in a big way, so it seemed like another slam dunk.

That didn’t really end up being the case, though. While some fans enjoyed the new take on Dante and the universe as a whole, many hated how the characters were written(shout-out to Lady’s constant swearing for no reason) and how it took liberties with the game’s themes. Well, that reception didn’t seem to matter too much,as a second season has already been confirmed.

Ebony And Ivory? This Party’s Getting Started!
With Season 2 being confirmed just a few days after the show debuted, you might think that it’s a while off and that we wouldn’t hear anything for some time. That doesn’t look to be the case, though, as a first look at the new season has beenteased in a new Evanescence music video for Afterlife, the song they made for the show.
During the music video, clips from the show are shown on a projector that seem to come from Season 2. This is made clear by Dante’s new look, which has him with longer hair than in the first season and looking closer to how he did in the first and second game, which canonically take place after Devil May Cry 3.
That’s not all, though, as Dante is also shown wielding Ebony and Ivory, his two signature pistols from the games that were strangely missing from Season 1. This was explained with Dante having a habit of accidentally breaking his guns, so it seems like he’s finally found a pair that suits him.
Despite how negatively received the first Season was by fans of the games, this first look seems to be resonating more,as the reactions are more positiveacross the board.Over on the Devil May Cry subreddit, the brief glimpse at Season 2 has already got fans excited about the new look and lore implications, as well as surprised that there are already animated scenes to show off.
