On the video game side of things,Dune: Awakeningwill throw players into the hostile sands of Arrakis – while the trailers and gameplay have been looking great, it seems the devs of the survival game might need some more time.

Dune: Awakening was originallyslated for an early 2025 release on PC, but eventuallyreceived a May release date with the character creator being released early. While a closed beta has been ongoing in order to get feedback to better the game, it seems there’s a lot more feedback than anticipated. Dune Awakening will now launch on June 10, with pre-order early access available on June 5.

Dune: Awakening Has Been Delayed To June

In astatementreleased by Funcom, the developer said that the delay is to incorporate the feedback of the persistent closed beta. It seems that the feedback wasn’t too great, as the game is now being pushed by three weeks. However, a large-scale beta test weekend will be conducted next month in order to get more feedback from the community.

“Thanks to this process, we’ve concluded that with a bit more time to cook, we can act on a lot more of the feedback we know is important to our beta testers,” said the statement. “As such, we will be moving the release date of Dune: Awakening to June 10th, with head start launching on June 5th. This is not a decision we take lightly, we know everyone is very excited to get playing, but these three extra weeks will give us the time needed to make improvements that will lead to a better gameplay experience from day one.”

Dune: Awakening takes place in an alternate universe where Paul Atreides was never born and the Fremen have disappeared. Leto Atreides is still alive and battles with the Harkonnens over Arrakis.
