Summary
Just about a week after announcing thatElden Ringhassold 30 million copies, we learned that there’salso a movie in the works. Alex Garland of Ex Machina and Civil War fame has reportedly been confirmed as the director, but we have no other information about it. Considering howFromSoftwarelikes to explain its lore, it’s hard to imagine what an Elden Ring movie will look like.
It seems this is the latest case of studios trying to sign as many video game IPs as possible, after the success of Last of Us, Fallout, and Arcane. As for the cast, you can imagine that most of them will only be voicing characters, given that all the bosses look like hideous monstrosities, but that hasn’t stopped people from fancasting.

Elden Ring Fans Want Anthony Carrigan To Play Patches
Patches is the only character who has made his way across multiple FromSoft games. He loves luring unsuspecting players into traps and laughing at their misery. His distinct pale and bald look helped fans find possibly the best actor for the role. Known for his roles as NoHo Hank in Barry and Victor Zsasz in Gotham, Anthony Carrigan is the fans' choice to play patches.
Carrigan’s role as both a comical mafia boss and psychopathic killer has earned him the adoration of fans. His quirky approach to both roles perfectly applies to the character of Patches, who could be considered FromSoftware’s version of a comic relief character.

“This guy, absolutely. The second the words “Elden” “Ring” and “movie” happened to be mentioned in that particular order, this fellow did come to mind,” said one comment on theReddit post that proposed the idea. Other comments humorously quoted Elden Ring dialogues as said by NoHo Hank.
