Summary

Elden Ring Nightreignis finally here, and, if you can manage to find two friends on the same schedule as you, you’re in for a great time. The lack of a duos modeand a voice chat feature has rubbed many players the wrong way, leading to ‘Mixed’ reviews on Steam. However, untilFromSoftwareputs duos in the game, you can play it solo.

While Nightreign is perfectly balanced for a three-player party, you can play it solo if you don’t have a crew. Simply head to the Lost Table of Grace, switch to the second tab of the Expeditions menu, and select ‘solo’. You can do this while staying online as well. While the game does technically become easier, there is a catch.

All The Changes In Elden Ring Nightreign’s Solo Mode

If you decide to play Nightreign solo, all enemies will firstly have less HP. This will make it easier to dispatch them, but, since the number of enemies stays the same, you might get overwhelmed. You can buy a legendary Wending Grace for a whopping 10,000 runes before the final boss to get a revive upon death. Other than that, you’re literally on your own.

However, it’s questionable whether this actually makes the game easier. Elden Ring Nightreign is fundamentally created with a three-player party in mind. For instance, many bosses will split into threes, which usually means there’s one for each player to focus on. Gladius splits into three wolves, and there’s also a Tree Sentinel boss with two Royal Cavalrymen, each of which usually aggros on one player.

While solo mode does offer you some respite in terms of HP and revives, you’ll still have to fight the same number of enemies and even bosses without two other players to watch your back. Speaking of which, the lack of teammates meansthere’s no one to revive you by hitting you when you’re down.

So, that begs the question: is solo mode in Elden Ring actually easier than trios? Let’s put it this way, if you’re one of those players that highly relied on the Mimic Tear Ash in Elden Ring, you’re probably going to have a hard time.
