Marvel Rivalsis arguably one of the most popular shooter games right now. For new players, learning how to play a Strategist character is a great way to ease in the game, as you prioritize healing your teammates rather than dishing out damage against enemies. As a Strategist, your goal is to help your teammates with healing and assists.
Whether you prefer to sit back and heal or be an active member in combat, there is a Strategist for every type of player. Understandably, it can be difficult to select which Strategist to play first. Luckily, some are easier to learn than others, making it easy to learn the ropes of playing Marvel Rivals.

8Jeff The Land Shark Is An Adorable Healer
Jeff the Land Shark is arguably the easiest (and the cutest!) Strategist to learn. Playing Jeff means prioritizing healing above all else. His primary, Joyful Splash, shoots out a stream of water from his mouth to heal his teammates. With this, he can provide constant heals, though it does get difficult for him to do so if the team spreads out too much. His secondary Aqua Burst, on the other hand, shoots missile-like water spheres that cause minor damage to enemies.
Use Aqua Burst when your enemies' health is low to secure KOs as Jeff.

If you need to reload your Joyful Splash, you may shoot out Healing Bubbles for your teammates to heal. His Ultimate, It’s Jeff!, allows you to swallow both enemies and allies. Shoot out your allies in more beneficial positions and toss your enemies off the map to easily gain access to the mission area or convoy.
7Rack Up Assists With Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon uses his Repair Mode to heal allies. With his gun, he is able to shoot healing orbs, allowing even the farthest away of allies to get a heal. He also uses his gun to shoot rapid-fire delayed projectiles with Bombard Mode. One of the best things about using Rocket is his ability to revive fallen teammates with his B.R.B (Battle Rebirth Beacon). However, B.R.B cannot revive Rocket and will disappear if he dies.
His Ultimate, C.Y.A (Cosmic Yarn Amplifier), grants his allies a major damage boost. It lasts for 12 seconds - just enough time for your team to get some major kills. However, C.Y.A can be destroyed by the enemy team.

6Sedate Your Enemies With Mantis
Mantis is a great healer for long-range support thanks to her abilities and slightly higher max health. When she uses Healing Flower, she places a heal-over-time effect on allies, allowing them to regain health if they are damaged in combat. She can also grant them Allied Inspiration, which gives her teammates a 12 percent damage boost. However, she cannot use Healing Flower and Allied Inspiration together. Her Ultimate, Soul Resurgence, envelops Mantis in an aura. Those within her radius are granted healing-over-time and increase movement speed.
Mantis is also able to take down enemies with Life Energy Blast, which launches a thorn-like projectile to deal damage. However, one thing that makes her stand out is her ability to sedate enemies with Spore Slumber. When used, opponents are put to sleep, allowing your allies to secure a free kill.

5The Battlefield Is Your Stage With Luna Snow
This pop star has a high healing output, capable of keeping her teammates alive at all costs. Luna Snow’s primary attack, Light & Dark Ice, is used to both damage enemies and heal allies. She can also use her ability Share the Stage to attack idol aura to her teammates for continuous healing. Meanwhile, her secondary Absolute Zero is used to deal damage and freeze enemies for 2.7 seconds.
Use Fate of Both Worlds when you need to clutch a round. Her health is increased, making it nearly impossible to take her down. Additionally, all allies within her radius benefit from her Ultimate.

Luna Snow’s full potential comes out when you use her Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds. This allows her to take center stage and start dancing while either healing her allies or providing them with a damage boost. However, Luna Snow is unable to use other abilities when Fate of Both Worlds is activated.
4Unwavering Assists With Adam Warlock
With his trusty staff, Adam Warlock is able to provide health AND drop massive damage. His primary fire, Quantum Magic, launches energy bolts to damage opponents. His secondary Cosmic Cluster allows Adam Warlock to charge up his staff and release multiple energy bolts and deal major damage to opponents.
Adam Warlock’s weakness is his speed. Due to how slow he is, he becomes an easy target for enemies. Find a secure spot to heal or stick to your tank to stay safe.

With his staff, he can use Avatar Life Stream to deal healing energy to allies. When he uses Soul Bond, a link between Adam Warlock and all nearby teammates allows them to share and distribute damage, preventing a single teammate from being taken down. His Ultimate, Karmic Revival, creates a quantum zone that revives any fallen teammates that are within the zone’s radium.
3With Cloak & Dagger, Two Is Better Than One
Cloak & Dagger is one of the hardest Strategists to learn since there are two heroes in one. To use Cloak & Dagger efficiently, you need to swap between them and learn their separate abilities to support the team. Despite the different abilities, however, they share a cooldown, making it difficult to determine when to switch to Cloak or Dagger.
If you want to prioritize healing, you’ll want to use Dagger more than Cloak. Use their Lightforce Dagger, which can bounce off walls and objects to heal allies while dealing damage to enemies. However, if you want to protect your allies by allowing a moment for them to strike, use Cloak. Cloak can turn his allies invisible and blind enemies, allowing teammates to strike when the enemies are weak.

2Shield Your Team With Invisible Woman
Invisible Woman was introduced to Marvel Rivals during season one alongside other members of The Fantastic Four. With her secondary Guardian Shield, Invisible Woman can not only heal damage, but prevent them from taking too much damage by providing them with a shield. Her primary Orb Projection allows her to cause damage to enemies while also healing her allies, allowing her to hit two birds with one stone.
However, it can be tricky to master her invisibility powers. Her Ultimate, Invisible Boundary, sets up a force field that heals her teammates and creates a force field that makes them invisible. For enemies to attack, they must enter the field at the risk of them being slowed down and hidden from their own teammates. It is useful but difficult to master; you need to have the perfect time to use it. After all, there isn’t much use for Invisible Boundary if Invisible Woman is the only one alive.

1Confuse Your Opponents With Loki
Loki is arguably the hardest Strategist to master thanks to his Doppelganger ability. In theory, you can just drop your clones anywhere on the map and have them confuse your enemies. However, the clones can be easily killed, and since they tend to just stand still, they don’t do much to deter enemies. To be able to use Loki efficiently, you have to be able to heal your teammates while strategically finding the best place to place your clones. Try doing this while utilizing your Regeneration Domain to both confuse your opponents while healing your team.
Distracting your enemies will provide you ample time to heal and cause major damage.

However, if you learn how to master Loki, you’re able to easily pull off a more aggressive play style. His God of Mischief Ultimate allows Loki to transform into the same character as an enemy or ally, stealing their abilities for a lethal KO. That, paired with healing and clones, makes Loki a valuable member of any team.
