Marvel Championsis a cooperative deck-building game that can be played solo or with up to four players. While it is easy to learn, deck-building requires deep strategic thinking. Not all villains are equal—some will give you a truly challenging experience.

As an LCG (Living Card Game), Marvel Champions continuously expands with new expansion boxes, hero packs, and occasionally scenario packs. These are usually released in themed cycles. For example, the third cycle focused on Guardians of the Galaxy, while the fifth cycle introduced characters from the Spider-Man universe. In this article, we have compiled all the upcoming and announced Marvel Champions content for you.

Latest Release: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – July 08, 2025

With the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. expansion, the X-Men cycle has officially come to an end. The X-Men cycle lasted for quite a long time, and although plenty of X-Men characters were released, had it continued, there were still many more characters that could have been introduced.

With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the game enters its ninth cycle, bringing not only S.H.I.E.L.D.-themed heroes but also some lesser-known and unexpected heroes. Like all major expansion boxes, this one includes two heroes, both of whom are quite popular: Nick Fury and Maria Hill.

Nick Fury’s starter deckbelongs to the Justice aspect.Additionally, he carries the S.H.I.E.L.D., Soldier, and Spy tags, making him incredibly versatile when building a deck around him. What sets Nick Fury apart is his Suit Form. During setup, you put this permanent, double-sided card into play.

When in Assault Side, attacking allows you to remove up to three threat from the Suit Form, andfor each threat removed, you deal extra damage.Additionally, every time Nick Fury thwarts, heplaces one threat on his Suit Form. The other side, Stealth Form, causes enemies that would attack you to thwart instead.

If your Suit Form has five or fewer threats, enemies add one threat to its Stealth Side when scheming. In short, playing as Nick Fury requires careful planning and making the most of his Suit Form’s mechanics.

Maria Hill’s starter deck belongs to the Leadership aspect. When building a deck for Maria Hill, aside from her chosen aspect, she can include up to three copies of S.H.I.E.L.D. support cards from any other aspect. This creates great synergy between existing S.H.I.E.L.D. cards and the aspect you choose.

Maria Hill’s Alter Ego ability allows her tosearch her deck for any S.H.I.E.L.D. support cardand add it to her hand. As a Hero, every ally she controls gains the S.H.I.E.L.D. tag, allowing them to benefit from S.H.I.E.L.D.-specific effects.

Additionally, her Reassignment action lets hermove a counter from one S.H.I.E.L.D. support card to another, extending the lifespan of crucial supports.

Shuri & Black Panther hero card from Marvel Champions.

Beyond the heroes, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. expansion introduces numerous S.H.I.E.L.D.-themed cardsthat work well with previous expansions and card pools. The villains in this expansion include:

As with past expansions, this one also features an engaging campaign mode, where players take on the role of managing S.H.I.E.L.D. Unlike previous campaigns, this onefocuses on finding the mole among the board members, requiring players to gather evidence and ultimately accuse the traitor.

However, making the wrong accusation will make things even more challenging. The campaign’s ending also hints at the upcoming expansion, teasing a connection to Civil War, building excitement and mystery for what’s next.

Black Panther / Shuri – Jul 09, 2025

Shuri is a completely unexpected surprise. The game’s core box already included T’Challa as Black Panther, but while Shuri shares some similarities, she plays quite differently. What makes this release even more exciting is thatsome of the new cards introduced alongside Shuri can also be used by T’Challa, making both heroes even more versatile.

Unlike T’Challa, whose Alter Ego form has no effect outside of setup, Shuri’s Alter Ego is far more impactful. Her Inventor actionallows her to exhaust and play a Black Panther or Tech card from your deck, reducing its cost by two. This is an incredibly powerful ability, especially when building a tech-focused deck.

Shuri’s Hero Form, Black Panther, features mechanics that many players might have wished T’Challa had. Whenever Shuri uses a basic power, she triggers the Special ability of a Black Panther Upgrade she controls.Just like T’Challa, these upgrades cannot be triggered manually, as they require the Special keyword to activate.

These Black Panther upgrades have minor effects on their own, similar to T’Challa’s, but in Shuri’s version, you can discard them when triggered to activate their stronger effects, making her playstyle more dynamic. Most of Shuri’s other cards revolve around upgrades and the Special keyword, helping to trigger her abilities more frequently.

Shuri’s Hero Packbelongs to the Justice aspect. Some of the Basic cards in this pack feature the Wakanda keyword, making them a great addition to T’Challa’s Black Panther deck due to their synergy.

Since Shuri is an unexpected hero in the S.H.I.E.L.D. cycle, some of her Justice aspect cards also have the S.H.I.E.L.D. keyword, introducing unique mechanics. For example, The Raft allows you to place defeated minions underneath it, removing threat equal to their scheme values.

However, if more than four minions are stored under The Raft, it still removes threat, but a random minion is released and given as a face-down encounter card to a player.

Shuri’s nemesis is Klaw, who, like his villain version, gains a boost card every time he attacks. Additionally, Shuri’s Hero Pack includes the Extreme Risk modular set, centered around Joystick, a member of the Thunderbolts.

Silk / Cindy Moon – July 09, 2025

Another surprise hero in the S.H.I.E.L.D. cycle is Silk. It has been a long time since we said goodbye to the Web Warrior cycle, so seeing another hero from that archetype is both unexpected and exciting.

Silk is primarily a defensive hero, boasting a Defense stat of three. However, what truly sets her apart is her Hero Action, Silk Sense. This abilityallows defeated minions, side schemes, and resolved treachery cards to be tucked under Silk. She can store up to four cards this way.

While removing four cards from the game may seem situational, Silk’s Alter Ego form, Cindy Moon, allows her todiscard one of these tucked cards to draw two cards, making her card economy very strong.

Most of Silk’sother cards revolve around this tuck mechanic, allowing her to discard tucked cards to further enhance her actions.

Her Player Scheme, Get The Scoop, allows her totuck one of the top two encounter cards under her when it is defeated.Meanwhile, her Support card, J. Jonah Jameson, is designed to help herfind Get The Scoop or remove schemes efficiently.

Silk’s Hero Packcomes with a Protection aspect starter deck.Since it features several cards with the Web Warrior keyword, previous Web Warrior heroes can also benefit from these new additions.

Silk’s nemesis is Morlun, though no details have been revealed about him yet. However, this Hero Pack introduces the Growing Strong modular set, which features Atlas, a tank-like, incredibly strong enemy that is both challenging and frustrating to deal with.

Falcon / Sam Wilson – June 2025

Falcon is one of the most highly anticipated heroes. Despite being part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. cycle, only his Alter Ego has the S.H.I.E.L.D. keyword.Interestingly, most of his mechanics do not revolve around cards with the Aerial trait, which comes as a surprise.

Falcon’s Alter Ego, Sam Wilson, has an ability thatallows you to discard a card from your hand to search your deck or discard pile for a card with the Bird tagand add it to your hand. Naturally, one of his character cards is Redwing, which has the Bird trait, as expected.

Falcon’s Hero Packcomes with an Aggression aspect deck, but one of the included cards, Hugin & Munin, has the Bird trait but belongs to the Leadership aspect. Additionally, this card has the Asgard keyword, making it relevant for heroes like Thor and Valkyrie.

Falcon’s Hero Form allows you toreveal the top card of the encounter deck face-up during the player phase, giving you the opportunity to prepare accordingly.

Additionally, whenever you play an Aerial card, you may trigger a Response ability that allows you todiscard the top card of the encounter deck. This makes Falcon an incredibly valuable hero for manipulating the encounter deck.

Some of Falcon’s Event cards alsofocus on discarding the top card of the encounter deck.Doing so enhances the effect of the event, and since Falcon keeps the top card revealed, you can make an informed decision before playing these cards.

Falcon also has defensive options, such as Aerial Recon and Aerial Evacuation, which focus on protection. Additionally, his Draw Their Fire card allows you to discard it toprevent Falcon from exhausting when defending during that phase. This makes a Protection-focused deck for Falcon a very viable and powerful option.

Falcon’s nemesis is Viper, though no details have been revealed about them yet. However, his Hero Pack introduces the Techno modular set, which revolves around Fixer, a member of the Thunderbolts. Fixer benefits from Tech-traited cards, making him a unique and potentially dangerous opponent.
