One thing builders inThe Sims 4never get bored with is clutter. Small items which make a room feel lived in. We’ve already had some kits specifically themed aroundbathroom clutterandeveryday clutterand this time around it’s the turn of the kitchen.
We have a few odd pieces of clutter to brighten up the kitchen, but very few considering how many you usually find in the average household. This kit focuses on everyday essentials, including storage, decoration, and even some surprisingly practical items that have uses beyond looking good.

10Fridge, Sink And Kitchen Island
These are the big ticket items in the pack in terms of functionality and size. You’ll find a simple fridge with a range of swatches that include different kinds of drawings, notes and other items fastened to the front. There are also two plain swatches, black and white, in case fridge magnets aren’t your style. Alongside this is a kitchen island and a sink.
The kitchen island is beautifully designed and even has a usable shelf underneath. However, the worktops are all the same pale wood, making this difficult to match with many other kitchen units. Luckily, the sink is inbuilt, so you’re able to fit it into any unit you want to. The swatches for both also match some of the restorable accessories in the Workshop Restoration kit.
9Baking Items
Baking has a focus here as you’ll find two types of baking clutter. The first is a range of ingredients alongside some raw dough and spatulas, and the second is some dough being rolled out and put onto baking trays. Both items are just for show.
The scales are also for show, offering a nice old-school compliment to the digital ones in Home Chef Hustle. However, the timer is actually functional. You can set a timer for a specific hour in the day and all Sims in the room when it goes off will react to it. You’ll need to switch it off when it goes off to prevent uncomfortable debuffs.
8Washing Up
No one’s favorite chore, washing up, is also well represented here. As well as a drainer containing some crockery and cutlery, something we’ve seen before, there’s also a set of washing-up liquids and sponges to compliment it.
Both items are detailed and match each other and the new sink well. It’s not the best pair of items but it’s a practical one and the sponges are a nice unique addition to the kit lineup.
7Stacking Storage
These storage tubs come in two different heights and the swatches show the clear sides containing a range of different things. Unfortunately, the jars don’t stack side by side, but you can stack them on top of each other. As well as two the same, you can also stack one of each.
This is a very basic item which works especially well on wall shelves or spaces in open cabinets. The two sizes also add to the versatility, although the items inside do mostly look like food limiting use outside the kitchen.
6Interactive Storage
The grocery bags, cereal boxes and cookie jars are unique clutter items due to the fact that each one serves a purpose. Not only do they look good, but each has a small degree of functionality.
These are great for off-grid lots where you don’t have a fridge, allowing you to make salads and grab snacks more naturally and without needing a food cooler.
Click on the grocery bag, and you’re able to order groceries which will go directly into the bag. This functions as a storage item, and you can grab the fruit and veg out of the bag to use in recipes. Similarly, you can grab cereal from the boxes and cookies from the cookie jar.
5Wall Decor
There are no new wallpapers or tiles here, but there is a tileable splashback, which means you can tile just the areas you want over the top of any regular paint or wallpaper. The colors are neutral and pastel, complimenting the main colors in this kit.
There are also 14 different paintings, which work together or separately, and are versatile enough to use in several different places. While most are food-themed and best for a kitchen or diner, a couple are neutral and others are voidcritter themed.
4Utensils And Crockery
There are a handful of items for utensils and crockery. A neat plain jar holds utensils and can fit on a shelf or by the oven, while a small mug rack holds a pair of mugs and some other coffee essentials. As well as this, there is a stack of plates and a knife block with knives and scissors.
All these items are small and fit nicely on counters alongside other items, or onto wall shelves. The mugs especially are far less bulky and muc h nicer looking than the existing mugs we have in the game.
3Recipes, Herbs And Spices
The small neat spice rack and line of fresh herbs in tubs may not be the most exciting thing here but they are simple chic and match other items well. However, the real joy is the cookbook which is fully interactive.
Click on the recipebook to begin cooking a meal, find out what recipes and bakes you can cook, or add or adjust family recipes. The cookbook has all the functionality of any other items, which allow you to start, check or edit recipes.
2Misc Storage
These items are simply extra bits of storage to compliment the rest of the pack. The glass jars have different items inside, while the other jars are plain and fully sealed. Both fit in clutter slots and easily onto any shelf or shelf unit.
The round tiered item has a small amount of misc items you may find in the kitchen and while different to most other items in this pack is generic looking enough to be used almost anywhere. Finally, the cleaning caddy makes a nice companion to items like the broom or the vacuums from the bust the dust kit.
1Extra Clutter
These final items are little extras you find in most kitchens. A set of oven gloves, chopping boards, and a bento box. The oven gloves and chopping boards are general clutter items, although the chopping boards are quite large.
The most useful item here is the lunch box / bento box. You can use it to grab a drink or snack, and you can add it to your inventory so you will be able to grab a drink or snack anywhere you are without needing to use the pack lunch interaction or risk having gross food in your inventory.
