Pokemon Gorecently introducedDynamaxing and Gigantamaxingto the game, a feature that allows you to change the form of specific Pokemon, greatly increasing their power on the battlefield. These unique Pokemon can only be obtain and used inMax Battles, a new PvE battle, requiring you to defeat either a Dynamaxed or Gigantamaxed Pokemon.
Each month there will be different Pokemon that you can find in Max Battles, giving you different Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon to battle against and obtain for yourself. Our complete guide below has all the information you need regarding Max Battles this month, including all Pokemon you can expect to encounter.
What Are Max Battles?
Max Battles give you the opportunity tobattle against either a Dynamax Pokemon or a Gigantamax Pokemon, rewarding you with an encounter with that Pokemon when successfully completed. The Pokemon caught through the reward encounter of a Max Battle will have the ability to Dynamax or Gigantamax, just like the one you battled against.
Max Battles take place atPower Spots, Gym-like locations that will appear all over the Pokemon Go map. Once a Power Spot appears, it will remain there for a few days, giving you the chance to participate in that Max Battle.
You will have to choosethree different Pokemon to use in a Max Battle, requiring each Pokemon used to have theability to either Dynamax or Gigantamax. Because of this, you will have the opportunity to Dynamax or Gigantamax the Pokemon you’re battling with, possessing powerful attacks and abilities.

Max Mondays
There will beMax Mondayshosted every Monday throughout the month of April, taking place from6pm local time to 7pm local time, similar toSpotlight Hour events. During these one-hour events, a specific Dynamax Pokemon will be available to battle against in most Power Spots on the map.

April Max Battle Events
Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day
Gigantamax Snorlax will be making its Pokemon Go debut with its own event, theGigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day. This event will take place onSaturday, May 21, 2025, from 2pm local time to 5pm local time.
During this three-hour event, you can expect to findGigantamax Snorlax to battle against in several Power Spots, giving you the opportunity to battle against and acquire this new Pokemon Go addition. There will also be several bonuses active during this event, allowing you to complete more Max Battles and earn more rewards.
Gigantamax Snorlax will be found in aSix-Star Max Battle, typically proving to be extremely difficult.
Make sure to group up with other playerswhen it comes to attempting this Max Battle.
Dynamax Entei Max Battle Weekend
There will be a second Max Battle-centered event taking place this month, theDynamax Entei Max Battle Weekend. This event will take place fromSaturday, May 13, 2025, at 6am local time, to Sunday, June 06, 2025, at 9pm local time.
Although details have not yet been released about this event, you can expect several opportunities to battle against Dynamax Entei during this two-day event, accompanied by bonuses that allow you to participate in more Max Battles, and earn more from completing them.
Battling against Dynamax Entei may prove to be more difficult thanEntei’s standard Five-Star Raid battle.
For this reason, make sure togo into this battle with as much help as possible.
