The icons will also indicate what type of battle it is, with a single human figure representing a special 1v1 encounter and multiple stick figures signifying a 1vX battle, ranging from two to four enemies on the opposing side. The pin icons represent standard encounters that typically only offer EXP or advance the story if they’re marked with a red flag. Then, the exclamation mark icons represent story-focused Stages that advance the plot.
Secret Stages
Every region in South Townhas aSecret Stage hidden somewhere on the map, which willreward a hefty amount of EXPupon completion.Where the icon is will differ for each character, but if youlisten closely, you canhear adistinct pinging sound that rings out when your cursor is near it.
Once you hear this distinct sound, slowly move your cursor around the area until the sound and vibration get stronger, eventuallyuncovering an Orange Icon. This encounter will be ahigh level for the region it isin, but will generally follow the same rules.
Secret Stage encounters will be against aGold opponentwith a1/66 chance of receiving 9999 damagefrom one of your attacks.Otherwise, theyreceive zero damage,no matter how much you attack them. So, it’sup to chance if you defeat them quickly or after several attempts.Seek them out in each region and defeat them for easy EXP!
Even in the New Game Plus mode of Episodes of South Town, the Secret Stages will be more or less the same, except with a stricter time limit. This won’t mean too much, as it’s still left up to chance. We strongly encourage being at or above the recommended Level, as you won’t receive that much damage when attacked, enabling you to stay in the fight longer and giving you more chances to proc the hit you need to defeat them!

Skills can only be unlocked by specific characters, but once they’re unlocked, they can be used across the entire cast and can even be stackedwith similar Skills. For example, if you unlock theNormal Attack Boost Iwith Terry, you canpair it with the Normal Attack Boost IIIyou obtained with Mai, and so on and so forth.
Don’t sleep on Skillsas they can be crucial for specific situations, allowing you todeal more damage during combos, prevent your opponent from using REV Arts and Gear Supers, and so much more.Skills can make your life substantially easier, especially in the New Game Plus mode, so ensure you’re using them to create potent builds!
