As the game hits its one-month anniversary, many, if not all, of those quirks remain, but Bethesda and Virtuos have yet to release a patch. At this point, some of the game’s glaring issues have become very much unwelcome by its community, and calls have been getting louder and louder for it to receive some kind of update.

Oblivion Remastered Still Hasn’t Received A Single Bug Fix

Usually, within the first few weeks of a game’s release, the development team is hard at work pushing out hotfixes for many of its most egregious bugs. That hasn’t been the case with the Oblivion Remaster, and it’s caused a bit of a stink in the community.

Over the last few days, calls have been getting louder for Virtuous to release any kind of update, withdozens of threadsposted across both the Oblivion and Oblivion Remasteredsubreddits.

Users have called the lack of communication around updates “worrying,” withsome questioning why a patch hasn’t been releasedyet. With no updates in the books, some users havesuggestedthat this is the reason they haven’t purchased the game at full price. Othershave saidthat they regret that they did. In fact, the update has taken so long to arrive, that many players have completed the game and moved on, vowingnot to come back until things are fixed.

While some users' posts have been impatient, others have shown a little compassion. Cloud_N0nesaid, “I’m just hoping this means it’ll be a beefy one. I hope they’re taking their time to fix the performance issues properly, give us subcategories on the inventory screen, fix the magic VFX lingering on your character or UI, etc.”

With Virtuous seemingly unwilling to do the work, modders have taken it into their own hands. In its first month, the game has received almost 3,000 mods, making itthe fastest-modded video game in history. These have ranged fromchanging the difficulty optionstoreverting the game to its original look. Now the developers just need to release something for console players.
