Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time’s got items. It’s got so many items. It’s got purchasable items, it’s got craftable items. Heck, most fall under both categories. It’s got consumables aplenty, battle assists like throwable bombs, you name it.
With so many items to choose between, and limited space on the shortcuts wheel, which items should always be at the ready? And which stuff, while not necessarily needing a slot in that wheel, should still be carried around, just in case? Here are our thoughts on the matter. We’re confident you’ll find just cause to carry these with you in Fantasy Life i.

HP Potions
The staple healing item,HP Potions are the fastest way to restore your health in a crunch. Pop one during combat in particular, sincethey may not prove cash-efficient to just use in-between fights.
But some enemies in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time can deal some real damage. More commonly, going up against foes more powerful than you areis a great way to grind your Lives out, and HP Potions will be a not-inconsiderable ticket to success therein.

SP Potions
SP is vital to everything you doin Fantasy Life i.Running out of it mid-combat isn’t the end of the world, but running out while gathering means giving up entirely, and that’s no good at all. Jumping back in after recovering it willrestore the node’s “HP” to full.
Unfortunately, there’s not a lot that can be done aboutthat, buthaving SP Potions on-hand will not only fix you up all proper-like if a fight is sucking up your bar; it’ll alsoget you back in ship-shape to keep mining, tree-cutting, or fishingin fast fashion.

Poison Antidotes
There areseveral debuffsin Fantasy Life i, and all of which can be tedious in their own right. Butpoison is especially arduous, since not only does itlower your HP at regular intervalsduring fights - it evencarries onward after the fighting’s over.
Granted, poison status does wear off naturally. And no, it won’t take a long time to do so. But consider this:that enemy that poisoned you might just do the same thing all over againonce you’ve naturally healed from the status.

Chip damage can be a big problem during longer fights. Besides, there’s nothing worse than finishing a fight only to drop dead just after it’s done. GetPoison Potionson your side to curb the pain.
Something To Raise ATK
Manycooked dishes, which can bepurchased, given asquest rewards, or (ideally)crafted yourself via the Cook Life, will not onlyrestore HPand/or SP; they’ll also providestat boosts.
These are temporary boosts, of course. But they can pay off in spades. Our favourite, by far, is theATK UPvariant. The higher your attack, the faster you will kill your enemies. Stands to reason, right?

Getting a nice steak in your shortcut wheel is optimal here. Or anything else which offers this.If a monster has a high HP pool, you can slim it down more swiftly by raising the damage you deal with every hit; there’s really no reason not to bring these items along.
Bombs
Bombs are throwable items used in combatto deal splash damage to enemy groups. They’re just as effective against single targets, but they areseriouslyuseful as crowd control.
There are several types of Bomb, and they’re all quite reasonably inexpensive at stores. They’re oddly common quest rewards, as well. Packing a good number along for trips throughGinormosiaisn’t a bad idea at all.

All Gathering Tools
Get into the habit of carrying aWoodcutter’s Axe, an Angler’s Rod, and a Miner’s Pickaxewherever you may roam. Even if you’renot specializing in these Lives, youdefinitelyshouldunlock them, becausethe number of nodes for each of these resources is quite highpretty much everywhere you’ll go.
We can’t overstate that, really. You’ll see trees as far as the eye can see. Fish in so many streams. And ore veins galore. Sure, you might not be particularly interested in one or more of these classes, butit’s always good to have resources for other plans, even if that just means selling them.

Logs, Ore, And Fish
At first blush, it may seem like we’re just repeating what we said in the above tip. But consider this:the logs, ore, and fish themselves are just as important to bring along as the tools through which to acquire them.
Many quests in Fantasy Life i require these, and the specific types will vary, but the general rule never shifts. It’s so much easier to happen to have those five Elder Logs in your inventorybeforeyou’re asked to find them. Justchat with the NPC a second timeafter taking the quest, if you do.

CheckRequest Bubbles above NPCs' headseven if they’re not lit up. Just because you don’t have something unlocked, that doesn’t mean you won’thave the relevant gathered resources on-hand through other means.
Spare Gear
verify you havespare gearin your inventory forBuddies to equip. While theycango into fights with just their regular attire (read: nothing will be listed in the Equipment menu),their survivability takes a sharp upward turn if they’re actually equipped.
You don’t have to go wild with this;just have enough for your current party lineup, and maybe an extra set or two for good measure. At minimum, have spare gear for several different Lives, so that your Buddies - no matter who you need at any given time - aren’t feeling bare.

This is a prime reason not to sell your old gear, too. Sure, it’s good to make some quick coin, but it’s better to kit your pals.
Celestia’s Gift
This last one’s a no-brainer, but the important thing to remember aboutCelestia’s Giftis thatyou should be gathering it every day from your Base Camp. A missed day is a missed opportunity.
Without getting into (minor) spoilers, you will soon unlock a means by which to fetch them all at once, via the able arms of a certain robot friend. It’s a quick thing to swing by Base Camp, press the button that summons him, and then press the button that has them yank them all out of the ground.
You’ll need loads of Celestia’s Gift, not just forturning Strangelings into Buddies, but forpurchasing things from Marco. Don’t let it go to waste!
