Summary
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolvesis finally here, ending a whopping 25-year wait for a new game in the franchise. It wasn’t without controversy in the run-up to launch either, as developer SNK managed to rustle the feathers of long-time fans by revealing two of the most bizarre guest characters you’ll ever see in a fighting game -Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldoand Bosnian-Swedish DJ Salvatore Gannaci.
In fact, a lot of players were outright claiming that Ronaldo and Ganacci were a worrying sign of the direction that the Fatal Fury series was going, with some even dismissing the game completely over their inclusions. It’s understandable, as I’m sure any fighting game fan would be extremely wary about real-life celebrities being added to their favorite fighting games.

Thankfully, a lot of fans have come around now that they’re trying the game out for themselves. While the inclusion of Ronaldo is still uncomfortable for some, the same can’t be said about Ganacci, as the character’s goofy moves, eccentric animations, and overall vibe in general have been enough for many to admit they were wrong.
Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves Fans Have Changed Their Minds About Salvatore Ganacci’s Addition
One Reddit user called TheTingeladmits that they did a “total 180” on Ganacci’s inclusion, explaining in a recent post of the FCG subreddit that they went from “thinking he doomed the game to absolutely loving this weirdo.” Another user called YezzyWazGud claims that Ganacci might go down as the “best joke character in fighting games”, while another called Mirrormanjojo says that “my heart is telling me to love him”.
It also helps that Ganacci himself is a big Fatal Fury fan, and is actually clued in on what fighting game fans like. Not only has he made music for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, but he’s also apparently a big fan of popular fighting game streamer Maximilian Dood, having recently contacted him to try and send him a tracksuit. He seems like a lovely guy, his character is a lot of fun, and the Fatal Fury community is smitten.
