Summary

Few things are as joyful as an adult as a three-day weekend. That’s 72 uninterrupted — we hope — hours of no work, giving you ample time to do the things that matter most, AKA,gaming.

With Memorial Day weekend in full swing in the United States and a bank holiday in the UK, a lot of gaming is ongoing.Taking to ResetEra and Reddit, gamers near and far shared what they’re playing this weekend, ranging from the latest releases to nostalgic classics.

It’s Time To Play The Game, Literally

For starters, multiple gamers said they were continuing their playthroughs ofDoom: The Dark Ages. Nothing rings in the holiday quite likedestroying demons with a mace.

Unsurprisingly, people are still enjoyingClair Obscur: Expedition 33. Equally unsurprising is the grip thatBalatrostill manages to have on the gaming community. “Hopelessly addicted to Balatro,“one gamer wrote on ResetEra.

In a bit of nostalgia, one user shared that they were replayingMetal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Did you know the game was originally intended to be called Metal Gear Solid 5? In more modernized nostalgia, others are diving intoOnimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, which was recently remastered and released.

On the retro side, a Mega Man marathon is one gamer’s pick, while another player is going through Parasite Eve. If it counts as retro enough, one player is playing their Wii U.Considering just how few people actually bought the Wii U, and how quickly Nintendo would like to forget about it, we’ll say it’s retro.

Personally, this writer has also fallen into the nostalgic trap, as I’m currently replaying Far Cry 3 via the Classic Edition, for whatever reason. Something about checking off all the little boxes is deeply relaxing.
