Summary
A new post about jobs atSucker Punchfrom the studio’s senior communications manager has suggested thatGhost of Yoteiis still aiming to release “this year”.
For as long as games have been around, there have been fears and worries about delays whenever anything isn’t shown for a while. That’s become more evident over the past few years as games take longer to make and release, but there’s never been as much anxiety around release dates than in 2025.
That is, of course, all because ofGrand Theft Auto 6,which is slated to release in Fall 2025and already has certainpublishers and developers admitting to being ready to move their own games to make room for it. One game in particular that a lot are worried about making its planned date is Ghost of Yotei, which was previously promised to launch at some point this year.
Ghost Of Yotei Seems Likely To Make 2025 After All
Even ignoring the big GTA-sized elephant in the room, Ghost of Tsushima fans have worried about Yotei getting pushed back for a while nowdue to it not showing up at the latest State of Play or even during The Game Awards last year. Sucker Punch has remained quiet about the long-awaited sequel since it was revealed, in fact, so it’s fair that some have been a little concerned.
It seems like, at least for now, there isn’t much to worry about, though. As pointed out by Tech4Gamers, Sucker Punch’s senior communications manager, Andrew Goldfarb, recently took to Twitter to share a post about a community and support job at the studio. In the post,Goldfarb specifically notes that Ghost of Yotei is launching “this year”.
Come work with me! We’re looking for an experienced community and support specialist to help us launch Ghost of Yōtei this year. - Andrew Goldfarb
While that’s still not the concrete date or even release window that we’ve all been hoping for,it does at least confirm that Sucker Punch is still aiming to launch Ghost of Yotei in 2025. That might end up changing down the line due to delays or a potential move for GTA 6, but for now we can rest assured that a delay isn’t currently on the cards.
