Summary

The rest of 2025 is looking pretty good forPS5owners with quite a few significant exclusives coming to the platform between now and the end of the year. One of those exclusives isGhost of Yotei, and while the lack of a release date for the Tsushima sequel might have some of you worried, a rating for the game implies it will be here sooner than most expected.

As spotted by Gematsu, Ghost of Yotei has been rated in Taiwan. The game has been given an R in Taiwan, so the same rating asGhost of Tsushima, and will feature violence, tobacco, alcohol, and inappropriate language. None of that will come as a shock. It’s the game being rated somewhere that has offered a lifeline to those hopeful that Ghost of Yotei will be here sooner rather than later.

Video games naturally can’t be rated until they’re pretty much complete, meaning Ghost of Yotei’s arrival could be right around the corner. There were rumors earlier this month, that appear to havestemmed from leaker Detective Seeds, suggesting Ghost of Yotei could launch as soon as July. Those rumors didn’t get much traction and were taken with a big old grain of salt. However, now that the game has been rated, those rumors are starting to feel a little more concrete.

Meaning A Release Date Could Be Revealed Any Day Now

PlayStationandSucker Punchwill have likely been studying 2025’s release schedule, trying to figure out the perfect time to launch the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. A July launch would be somewhat surprising as we know for certain thatDeath Stranding 2: On The Beachwill be released on June 26. That and Ghost of Yotei, PlayStation’s two biggest exclusives of the year, launching within a month of one another seems unlikely, but it could happen.

Particularly when you look at what’s to come the rest of the year. PlayStation also hasMarathonto consider, another game coming from a PlayStation studio, which will launch in September. WithConcord’s ghost still looming large, Marathon will need to be given the best possible chance of succeeding. Releasing Ghost of Yotei right before it could hurt those chances. Plus, as is the case for every studio that wants to release a game this year, there’s the elephant in the room that isGTA 6.Rockstar’s behemoth is still slated to be here before the end of 2025, but there’s also a chance it’s pushed into 2026 and the final few months of the year are freed up all of a sudden.
