Summary
The officialGhost of Yoteiwebsite has randomly been updated with a few new pieces of information, including more background on the protagonist, Atsu, and details on her weapons.
Outside of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Astro Bot,PlayStationwas surprisingly quiet throughout most of 2024, which put some big expectations on this year. So far, it’s looking like a big year for the platform, with two major releases promised by the end of 2025 -Death Stranding 2: On the Beachand thesequel to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei.

We’ve known thatSucker Punch was working on a follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima pretty much since that game released, but we finally got confirmation towards the end of last year. Sadly, despite how many chances PlayStation has had to show Yotei since then, we’ve heard nothing more about the sequel since then.
Ghost Of Yotei Website Gets Random Update That Reveals Some New Information
Looks Like Atsu Can Wield An Odachi
While we’ve still not got any clue when we can expect to see another trailer or get a proper deep-dive, we have at least heard a few things about Yotei recently.Beyond a hiring post that confirmed it’s still set for 2025, the latest tidbit comes from arandom update to the game’s website that was spotted by Twitter user Okami13_ earlier today.
The website update doesn’t reveal anything too substantial, but it does share some smaller tidbits. One of the new bits of information is about the game’s protagonist, Atsu, who is said to have risen “from the ashes of her homestead”. Atsu is now out for revenge against those responsible for the death of her family, and is taking on any “odd job and bounty” to prepare for her quest.

But how she fights, survives, and evolves the legend of the Ghost, will be up to you.
The other interesting bit of information in the update is about the game’s expanded roster of weapons. We already knew about the dual katanas, but Atsu will also be able to wield a kusarigama and odachi. The kusarigama was briefly shown in the reveal trailer, but it seems like the odachi, a long samurai sword, is a brand new piece of information.
