Summary
It’s been 500 days since the first and only GTA 6 trailer, and fans areclawingat the bars of their enclosure for just a scrap of news, please, Rockstar. But alas, nothing. Crickets. And as we all know, if you leaveGrand Theft Autofans by themselves for too long, they start getting a bit desperate.
Speaking of,u/BigChubbyFatBoi(we do serious journalism here at TheGamer) has a pretty far-fetched theory about the “mud girl” — they think she’sTracey De Santa.

“It is self evident that Tracey looks undeniably similar to the mud girl,” they argued, pointing out that both characters are blonde women with round faces. “Also note that GTA 6 takes place in 2025, 12 years after GTA 5, which took place in 2013. Tracey’s actress looks even more similar to the mud girl than Tracey herself.”
u/BigChubbyFatBoi also pointed out that a woman says “Well, look who’s back” (which is a reference to a real viral video, like much of the GTA 6 trailer) right after the mud girl’s appearance. “Coincidence? Who knows”. Sure, maybe Tracey will cameo, only to get the Johnny Klebitz treatment, but I’m not sure a side-by-side of two blonde women is enough evidence. That being said, some fans are utterly convinced by this theory.
“From The Creators Of The Homeless From 5’s Trailer Is Niko And Bikini Girl Is Lucia, Now Bring You: The Mud Girl Is Tracey”
Look, maybe this is an out-there theory. There’s not a crumb of actual evidence, and it’s the result of fans watching the same trailer on loop for over a year, desperately hoping forsomethingto jump out at them as new, but there are those in the community who like the idea of Rockstar giving Tracey another chance, and it’s hard to fault them.
“I love this theory,” u/thegoon01 commented. “Not only do we potentially see a returning character from 5. But also the fact that it is Tracey who, and let’s be honest, is pretty one dimensional in 5 and really served as the preppy, whiny, Hollywood daughter type. And the idea of her changing throughout the years between 5 and 6, moving to Leonida, and becoming a wild, hillbilly type character is so cool to me as a concept.”
Honestly, I’m genuinely on board with this idea — u/TheCommanderSkittles.
“That would be cool to see,” u/Armascout said. “She was like 17 or so in GTA 5 right? So she’s probably be [sic] 29 or 30 in GTA 6. I wouldn’t mind her making a cameo in tough mudder style mini game / event.”
“Wouldn’t it make sense? [Tracey’s] a party girl [who] relies on daddy [too] much? Why wouldn’t she go out to Florida at 34,” u/Wikis_Wonka argued, defending the theory.
But maybe we shouldn’t be putting too much stock into what u/BigChubbyFatBoi thinks. As others note, take a quick look at their profile and you’ll discover they’re a flat earther, which certainly explains the reach in logic here. Nevertheless, it has sparked an interest in Tracey’s return, especially with her absence in the various GTA Online expansions that brought back other single-player characters.
