Twitchhas just revealed the most popular games on its platform in 2024, and unsurprisingly, GTA 5 comfortably tops the list. With more than 1.4 billion hours viewed collectively, the game is still a hit with streamers and their fans, and secured an easy lead overLeague of Legendsin second place.
That said, League of Legends' popularity is nothing to scoff at. The MOBA was the only other game to reach total viewing hours in the billions, with 1.19 billion hours in total.

Altogether, Twitch viewers tuned in for 15.6 billion hours of gaming last year. That means that GTA 5 accounted for around nine percent of Twitch’s gaming viewership - not bad for a game that’s more than a decade old.
Of course, the reason for this is twofold -GTA Onlineis monstrously popular,andwe are finally inching closer to the release ofGTA 6. Afterthe first trailer dropped in December 2023, fans were begging foranythingfromRockstar. Even more than a year of silence hasn’t stopped the excitement, as fans areeagerly awaiting the next trailer.
Despiterumours of a delay, GTA 6 is currently set to launch later this year. No specific release date has been confirmed just yet, but we know it will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
