Summary
Monster Hunter Wilds' unstoppable success resulted in eight million copies being sold in just about three days. Even though it reachedSteam’s top ten in one hourandgarnered one million concurrent playersin six, those sales numbers are just ridiculous. It’s a testament to how popular the series is, and how many more fans it captured after World.
While we can make an entire list of all the things that have contributed to the game’s success, attention to detail is pretty high on it.Customised carving knives, todelectable looking cheese naan, and beautifully designed weapons are just a few instances we can cite. However, some players have noticed a rather funny detail while capturing monsters.

Captured Monsters Just Get Up And Leave After Some Time
As showcased byRDGtheGreaton Reddit, If you hang around long enough arounda captured monster, it will simply wake up and disappear into the ether. It probably wouldn’t have been a thing if the monster simply disappeared while unconscious, but the devs decided to make it wake up and start walking away, making the entire scene pretty funny – almost like a movie director yelled “cut” and everybody got out of character.
One comment even imitated a director giving notes after the scene. “Frank, nice job on the hammer. Those hits felt convincing. Bill, you looked awesome with those dual blades, choreographer deserves a shout out. Tommy, excellent work as the monster. You really felt terrifying. What’s that? Your arms? Oh, I’m sure they’ll grow back. We’ve got a fruit basket for you in your trailer.”

Another player shared their headcanon to explain this scenario, saying, “the hunters and monsters actually have a Mario and Bowser dynamic, where it’s all just a show and they’re all pals outside of the events of the games. And that also explains why you can hunt them hundreds of times in a row, it’s all the same monster just doing the whole shebang all over again. Also why the hunters never die, only faint and get carted back to camp.”
There was absolutely no need for the devs to add in this humourous bit of extra animation, but we’re glad they did!
