Summary

Helldivers 2’s climactic battle for Super Earth isn’t going down well with some players, as the game is once again being review-bombed onSteam.

After severallongmonths of silence from Helldivers 2, things have finally started to pick back up for the game thanks to its latest update, Heart of Democracy, which sees players fighting in the streets to hold back the Illuminate. While it should be one of the most exciting battles that the game has ever seen,it’s also causing some annoyances for players.

Heart of Democracy sees a massive black hole being sent towards Super Earth, which basically brings the fight to several Mega Cities in Super Earth, which include areas based on real-world locations such as York Supreme being New York and Prosperity City being Stockholm. Thedrama seems to come from what happened to Equality-On-Sea, which is based on Shanghai.

Helldivers 2 Is Being Review Bombed Thanks To Equality-On-Sea Being Destroyed

Chinese Players Are Leaving Lots Of Negative Reviews On The Game’s Steam Page

As reported by IGN, Heart of Democracy’s ongoing battle eventually centred around Equality-On-Sea, with lots of players getting into character and aiming to defend the city. Sadly, Equality-On-Sea never ended up being saved despite how hard players tried, with the percentage meter (which is a little confusing) ending up at 99.9783 percent.

That number might seem a little specific, but itclues us into why some players are review-bombing the game on Steam. This close call seems to have angered a lot of Helldivers, as the recent reviews are all filled with references to “99.9783%”, such as one that simply reads, “Up vote loading 99.9783%”.

Other reviews, such as one that reads, “Most players don’t want to defend your home according to your script, they want to create their own scripts”, point out that players think the loss was scripted and something that was always going to happen and couldn’t be stopped. Considering how many players jumped in to defend Equality-On-Sea, the effort is now being described as a “wasted miracle”.

Of course, if you’ve been keeping an eye on Helldivers 2 since it launched last year, you’ll know that negative reviews and review-bombing is nothing new to the game. It’s been through the wringer several times before and even dropped to “Mostly Negative” Steam reviewsat one point. In comparison, Mixed reviews seems like an easy battle, but we’ll know for sure if they keep rolling in.
