Summary

Helldivers 2is in a pretty nice spot (though some are getting a little impatient), with fans fighting back against the Terminids, Automatons, and Illuminate in an attempt to stop a black hole from devouring Super Earth. Now more than ever, the battlefield isteeming with massive enemies that are a threat to liberty, whether it be Chargers, Tanks, Hulks, or Harvesters.

They can be tough to take down if you’re caught without the right equipment, and it also doesn’t help that they have the ability to sneak up on you. Yes, despite their massive size, a frequent occurrence among Helldivers 2 players is having massive war machines and monsters sneak up on them during fights, thanks to what is seemingly a problem with the game’s camera.

Helldivers 2 Fans Want Enemies To Start Making More Noise

A Reddit user called JahnDavis27showcases this problem with quite possibly one of the most absurd examples you’ll ever see. In the video they share with the Helldivers subreddit, they can be seen making their way through a blizzard, and see a tank silently emerge from the haze in front of them. They deal with it, only to turn around and come face-to-face with a second tank that had managed to sneak up on them.

It’s not just tanks either, as other players in the replies recall this being a problem with both Chargers and Berserkers too, despite the latter having giant chainsaws strapped to their arms. A user called SorryTour8146 says that the problem has made them “paranoid”, and that they always verify to check their minimap every 2 seconds, while a user called Kahlizzle_Da_Boss thinks it’s “annoying we’ve had this problem since day one”.

A lot of people seem to think that the problem is a mixture of sound prioritization and camera problems, as enemies are drowned out considerably by other noise sources whenever a player is facing away from them. Even the player’s footsteps are louder than some enemies, and fans just want the noises that enemies make to be turned up a bit when facing away from them. Hopefully, Arrowhead will do something about it, before I get ambushed by another Charger.
