Summary

Hollow Knight: Silksonghas been in the news quite a lot recently, thanks toa couple of suspicious Steam updatesand an insider putting his entire reputation on the lineby speculating on a release window. There has been more news about Silksong in the past six months than over the previous three years, and the time feels right for a re-reveal.

It was just a case of exactly when this re-reveal would take place. A lot of Silksong believers thought that the game would be re-revealed during Nintendo’s big Switch 2 Direct on April 2 next week, butthe announcement of a separate Direct tomorrowfor games coming to the current Nintendo Switch has thrown a spanner in the works.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Fans Are In a Frenzy Over Nintendo’s Next Direct

For the first time in a while, Hollow Knight fans have every reason to be excited, but that excitement has boiled over into a complete frenzythanks to a comment made by Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb. In the latest episode of Power Block, Grubb states that the reason he knew a Direct was happening this week was because of a game that’s going to be there that will “cause a lot of conversation”.

Grubb goes one step further and says that this mystery title is “not necessarily a Nintendo one”, which may be a slight hint that a big third-party reveal is going to happen. Of course, every Silksong fan on the planet now thinks thatGrubb is referring to a re-reveal, as it would definitely cause a lot of conversation, and that’s putting it mildly.

However, it’s worth keeping calm and remembering that there are a lot of unannounced games right now that could qualify. We’re still waiting for this elusive Oblivion remaster, which is supposedly coming at some point this summer, and Xbox has revealed ports of its games at Nintendo Directs before. Silksong isn’t the only possibility, but it is a possibility, and that’s enough for a lot of fans right now.
