The Dark Brotherhood quest line is arguably one of the best inOblivion Remastered,and is largely considered the best guild quest linealongside the Thieves Guild. Once you reach the turning point where everything changes in the Purification quest, your quest loops will change entirely, as you’ll receive orders via dead drops from Lucien Lachance.

The first in this new line of quests is Affairs Of A Wizard, which will see you hunt down a lone Necromancer who is in the process of turning himself into a Lich. You’ll need to infiltrate his lair and discover the secret to killing Celedaen.

How To Start Affairs Of A Wizard

After you’ve done Lucien Lachance’s bidding andcompleted The Purification questand wiped out the Cheydinhal Sanctuary, you’re now ready for Affairs Of A Wizard, which will be different from most other quests you’ve taken from the Dark Brotherhood thus far.

You’ll pick up this contract at Hero Hillwithin a hallowed out moss-covered rock, which tasks you withkilling a Necromancer, Celedaen, at Leafrot Cave,in the southeastern section of Cyrodiil, east of Bravil.

How Should You Kill Celedaen?

Make the long journey toLeafrot Cave,and grab theNirnrootto the left of the entrance before you head inside.

Once you’re inside Leafrot Cave, you’ll encounter a rat and a skeleton you’ll need to slay, then search thesmall study areaandread The Path Of Transcendence on Celedaen’s desk.

Once you do, you’ll learn thatCeledaen’s weakness is removing the Sands of Resolve, an hourglass, from his person.The best way to do this is topickpocket it, so get your bestChameleongear and invisibility spells ready.

You don’t have to kill Celedaen this way, but it’s a very easy way if you’re skilled at sneaking.

Unlock the hard lock on the wood door to the northeast, then kill the undead and loot the room before continuing further intoLeafrot Hollow.

The shift to a green arrow means your target is close. Prepare to sneak if you want to kill your target without a fight.

Fall into the hole in front of you, then quietly open the wooden door, where you’ll find Celedaen roaming the corridors.

Eithercut Celedaen down or pickpocket the Sands of Resolvefrom him to defeat him and complete Affairs of a Wizard.

Head to the city ofChorrolto pick up your reward and your next contract.

Once in Chorrol, you’ll find your reward in a small sack,stashed in some bushes behind the Great Oakin the center of town.
