Lusters are fairly common enemies inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, but their Chromatic variant is in a class of its own. This fiery foe attacks rapidly and relentlessly, and can set your entire team on fire for even more damage. Without some exceptional parrying on your part, the fight against Chromatic Luster can be a race against time.
Luckily, this is one Chromatic Nevron that doesn’t have a huge amount of HP compared to the others. As long as you can maintain control of the fight and keep yourself from having to stay on the defensive, you can wear it down in no time.

How To Find Chromatic Luster
In Act 2, the first main area on your path to the Monolith is theForgotten Battlefield. At the end of the Battlefield’s first section, before you emerge into the grassy area, you’ll find a ghostly figure called theFading Lady. When you meet her, turn rightand enter the trench network instead of proceeding along the main path.
Follow the trenches past the patrolling Troubadour; the Chromatic Luster is around the next corner, easily distinguishable from regular Lusters by itsfiery colorand larger size.

Recommended Party Setup
Chromatic Luster is a Fire-elemental boss, soMaelle is of limited use in this battle.Leave her in the reserve, and bringLune, Verso, and Scielas your main team.
Set up Maelle with solo Luminas andremove any of her Fire Skills before the fight, replacing them with high-damage physical attacks. That way, if the main team falls, she has a chance of saving the day.
The most important thing in this fight isbeing able to remove Burn stacks efficiently.verify that everybody has at least one healing Skill equipped:
Lune, naturally, shouldavoid Fire spells. You can still use Skills likeIce Lancethat use Fire Stains, though, since Healing Light will give you plenty of Light Stains that you can use in their place. The other characters don’t need to worry as much about elemental interactions, so justgive them the best setups for their current weapons.
Pictos And Lumina
Chromatic Luster hits hard and fast, so it’s a good idea tofavor Pictos that raise Speed, Defense, and Health. That way you can weather the storm, strike back effectively, and have more HP to burn (literally).
As for Lumina, remove powers like Burning Shotsthat inflict Burn, since you don’t want to accidentally deal Fire damage to this boss. Instead, take recovery-focused Luminas likeShared CareandEnergising Revive. Since it’s likely that everyone is going to take a fair amount of damage during the fight, the variousSOS Luminasare all good selections as well.
How To Defeat Chromatic Luster
Chromatic Luster’s attack pattern is similar to that of regular Lusters; for the most part, it usesrapid-fire claw combosandrushes that target multiple party members. The difference is thatits moves are slightly faster, requiring you to be quicker on parries, and thatall of its hits inflict Burn.
Chromatic Luster also has a nasty Explosion attack that deals about 600 damage to the entire party and adds Burn stacks. Parrying is great if you can manage it, since you’ll get an Expedition Counter, but it might be smarter to take the less risky option and go for a dodge.
attempt to have one character - either Lune or Sciel - focused onhealing and Burn recoverywhile the others do as much damage as they can. Even if you’re keeping your damage under control, you need to remove the Burn stacks because every few turns the boss willconsume all Burn from the party and heal based on how many stacks it removed. If you aren’t actively putting out fires, Chromatic Luster can just heal back to full.
A lot of this fight depends on how well you parry. If you get a lot of counterattacks and avoid damage, it’s a real breeze. If the boss starts to get the better of you, though, Verso offers a quick way out; hisBerserk Slashdeals extra damage based on how much HP he’s missing, so if he’s in bad shape he can knock off a big chunk of the boss’s health bar in one go. Since Chromatic Luster only has about 30,000 HP, a few big hits like that should be all it takes if you can prevent the boss from healing.
