At the culmination ofWuthering Waveschapter two, act four, first available in update 2.2, we take on our second Calamity Class enemy: Fleurdleys. Trapped, partially corrupted by her creator, and just this side of divine, she’s one of the toughest fights in the game if you aren’t prepared. She’s fast, has a longer attack list, and enough health to outlast all but the best-built teams.

You’ll also want to know how to beat Fleurdleys because her Echo is a fantastic addition to any Aero DPS. We’ll cover everything you need to know in this guide.

All First Phase Attacks

Like any good capstone encounter,Fleurdleys has a long attack list, whichexpandsafter reaching50 percent healthand entering her second phase. Shedoesn’t havea lot of bigone-shot attacks, trading burst damage for death by a thousand cuts.

Many of herattacksalsosummon additional swordsto extend the attack’s reach or deal additional damage while she winds up another move. Fleurdleys alsolikes to play with positioning in the arena, either by denying yours or physically moving you to a less advantageous location.

Can it be Dodged or Parried?

How to Avoid or Counter

Two diagonal slashesthat send out sharpblades of water

Dodge to the sidejust as the attack is about to reach you.

Water Ground Wave

Awide wave of watertravelsalong the groundtoward you. Fleurdleys starts the attack by pointing her sword at the sky.

Slash and Summon Swords

Asingle diagonal slashquicklyfollowed by three large swordsstabbing the ground near you.

Dodge to the sidejust as the slash is about to reach you, thenalmost immediately againto avoid the summoned sword.

Triple Slash and Distant Slashes

Three diagonal slashes, then Fleurdleys shines a light from her fingertips, turns invisible, and creates azone of slasheswhere you’re standing.

Dodge to one side three timesfor the main slashes, and once more for the smaller grouping. Beware this move canquickly combo into others.

Heavy Slash and Tracking Summoned Swords

Slashes with a smaller sword, then immediatelysummons three swordsin quick succession thattrack your position.

Dodge the first smaller sword swing, then quickly dodge twice to avoid subsequent attacks.

Sword Beam

Collects the three side swords into a single point of energy, thensends that energy out in a straight beam of light.

Four Sword Combo

Takes a sword in both hands, thenslashesonce, thenkicksand summonsa pair of large swordsfrom the ground. Finally, makes across slashwith a great deal of forward momentum.

Carefullydodge to the sidejust as each swing is about to connect. There is abouta beat and a half between attacks.

Raises her sword to the sky, then:

Dodge as each swing is just about to reach you, except the thrust, which you’ll know by the flash when she’s at distance.

Ten Hit Everything Combo

Thefirst hit can be parried, or the rest must be dodged.

Commands side swords to do coordinated attacks, then:

Parrying the first attack nullifies the entire combo. You’ll need to be light on your feet to dodge the rest of them.

The air attack has a deceptive delay, and the attacks that follow it come in quick succession.

Mermaid Dive

Makes avertical cutand flies into the sky, then grows a “tail” andslams the ground, ending with a spinning slash.

Dodging as usual avoids the attack, and being in theair avoids the slam.

Energy Pull

Gathers purple white energy and sends out a misty wave, then a flash. If caught, you’ll be teleported directly in front of Fleurdleys.

Dodgejust as theflash appears.

All Second Phase Attacks

Thesecond phaseof the Fleurdleys fight is amore intenseversion of the first. Her variousattacks and combos flow into one another more fluidly, cover more ground, and deal more damage. Her “ultimate” attack turns the entire arena into a death zone, with few safe places to stand.

The strategy for beating Fleurdleys, however, remains much the same, as few of her new attacks can be parried.Dodging and counter-attacking as she recoversis the path to victory.

Interestingly, thesecond phase only introduces one attack, but it contains over a dozen different attacks.

Can be Dodged or Parried?

Shockwave and Six Slashes, plus Arena Slash

After sending out a shockwave, teleports to you, and slashes with both swords twice. Then:

As theattacks cannot be parried, you need to dodge each in turn. Only thethrust has much forward momentum, letting you back away from the kicks.

Toavoid the arena slash, stand anywhere the lines are not, then dodge after about half a second into the time slow.

Tips For Beating Fleurdleys

Fleurdleysis anAeroenemy, though this doesn’t provide any significant resistance to the damage type, it’s worth noting. The most important thing to understand about fighting her is that almost all of her attacks have a longer windup and faster follow-up attacks.

The few moves that are just plainfast won’t do a lot of damage, thankfully, and even they tend to have obvious tells. However, because many of Fleurdleys’sattack strings are on the longer sideand can’t be parried, you’ll need to be careful about your stamina management.

Once Fleurdleys stops attacking, there’susually a one or two-second recovery animation, giving you a chance forrelativelyfree damage. It’s not foolproof. Sometimes she’ll simply flow into another attack string.

Another thing tokeep in mind is the delay on her attacks. Fleurdleys is designed topunish dodge spam. That goes double for attacks with multiple weapons or projectiles. In practice, you only need two dodges to deal with many of Fleurdleys’s attacks, but those dodges need to be appropriately timed.

Best Teams To Beat Fleurdleys

Without notable resistances, you can use any of the top teams to take down Fleurdleys, and if you’ve invested enough in them, free-to-play teams work well, too.
