Being a vampire in The Elder Scrolls brings with it a host of opportunities for deeper role-playing, not to mention some real gameplay perks (and associated weaknesses as well). InOblivion Remastered, the fourth entry in the best-selling series is given a fresh coat of paint, and you’ve still got every reason to look for freshblood, too.
Oblivion doesn’t have a grand vampiric tale, a la Skyrim’s Dawnguard expansion. But it still has just about everything you’d come to expect from The Elder Scrolls' spin on creatures of the night. If you’re looking to join the ranks of the vampires, here’s how to do just that.

How To Become A Vampire In Oblivion Remastered
We’ll leap straight into the heart of the matter before going over the reasons to consider - or not consider - becoming a vampire in Oblivion Remastered.
The process is actually fairly straightforward; in fact, it’s more difficult toavoidvampirism, depending on where you roam, than it is to embrace it.

Poryphic Hemophilia is adisease, for the record. You can check it out via the character menu at any time; it’ll go away and be replaced with your vampire status after the above conditions have been fulfilled.
Pros And Cons To Vampirism
If you’re not sure whether vampirism is right for you, check out the following ups and downs for the arrangement.

Pros and Cons
Thestageswe’ve been mentioning are dictated bythe time since last you’ve fed. Feeding is as important for vampires in Oblivion as one would imagine; these are the four stages, based uponhow long it’s been:
While this might make it sound like there’s no good reason to ever move down from Stage Four, your light sensitivity won’t just affect sun damage; it will take a veryliteral effectas well, in thatthe game’s brightness levels will be cranked so high that it can become genuinely intrusive during the daytime.
This glare doesn’t entirely go away, per se, at night;light sources will still cause serious strainby Stage Four.
You can only feed onsleeping persons, and, unsurprisingly, if you’re spotted while feeding,it is treated as a crime. The 40-gold fine, however, really isn’t so bad… all things considered.
Curing Vampirism
As curing vampirism requires a full quest,we have a guide on it here. It’s important to note that, in Oblivion, you cannot become a vampire ever againif you’ve been cured of it, so think carefully before proceeding.
