Dreadful Discoveries is a Triumph required to unlock the ‘Heretic’ seal inDestiny 2. It requires you to complete multiple objectives across all three seasonal acts. With the release of Act-III, you’re able to complete the Triumph to get The Ruinous Flame — a Legendary ship. You will need to progress through the main storyline before working on these objectives. While none of the objectives are particularly hard, they do require some legwork.

This guide details everything you need to know about completing Dreadful Discoveries, required objectives, and the most efficient ways to do them.

Dreadful Discoveries (Triumph) seen as a requirement of the Heretic seal. It requires three objectives that must be completed across all three Acts.

How To Complete The Objectives For Dreadful Discoveries Triumph

You mustcomplete three objectivesto unlock Dreadful Discoveries.These objectives become availableonce you haveprogressed the story a bit.

The description is slightly misleading. It cannot be completed during Act-I.

Since each objective corresponds to a different Act, you will need to reach Act-III to finish them all.

Hive Hacking

For this objective, you mustcomplete three Mission Dossier:Hive Hacking questsfrom the Shaping Slab. to complete these quests, you will need todefeat Hive Wizards on the Moon—two in Sorrow’s Harborandone in Hellmouth.

How to Complete

Lightsinger’s Limb

Travel to the Summoning Pitsfrom Sorrow’s Harbor — the easiest way is tomark the quest active, and follow the waypoint.

Once in the Summoning Pits,defeat all enemies in the areato summon Yor ur-Halaku, Lightsinger. Again,use any Power Weapon to defeat herandclaim the Hand of Yor ur-Halaku.

Cultist’s Limb

You need to follow thewaypoint to the Catacombs to find Ilyx,Celebrant of Oryx. To remove her immunity shield,shoot three Hive Runes— there is no need to engage enemies.

Once her shield is down,use your Superorany Heavy Weaponto defeat her, andcollect the Hand of Ilyx ur-Anukru.

Blade Navigator’s Head

You will need tocomplete a few tiers ofAltars of Sorrowon the Moon tosummon Saruk,War Dancer. When she appears,defeat her to grab the Head of Saruk ur-Omni.

If there areother people in your instance, make sure toland a couple of shotsbefore someone nukes her.

Willbreaker Shards

Once you have reached Act-II, you will be able to pick up another set (five in total) ofquests from theShaping Slab. Completing these quests will reward you withWillbreaker Shardsthat are needed for the Triumph.

Shattered Will: Vorok, Sentinel Eternal

Vorok, Sentinel Eternalis asecret enemy found in various placesacross The Dreadnaught. In order to summon him, you will need tolight three braziers. Vorok does not have any standout mechanics, and can easily bedefeated with any Special/Heavy.

After defeating Vorok, continue todefeat enemies using a Sworduntil you are done.

Willbreaker: Dreadnaught

You will need to open Treasure Chests inThe NetherorCourt of Bladestocollect Willbreaker Shards.

Once you have collected all of them,defeat a Taken Bossin a Strike (The Corrupted) or a Dungeon likeProphecy. Alternatively, you can alsodefeat a few Powerful Taken anywherein the Sol. You can do this by either farming a Lost Sector in The Dreaming City or grinding Court of Blades.

Shattered Shards: An Entity Manifested

There arethreeExpressions of Manythat you can findacross the Cosmodrome—Lunar Complex,Gateway, andDock 13. You simply need todefeat these enemiesto complete this quest.

Similar to Vorok, these enemies arenot tough to defeat. Any burst Super, Power Weapon, or even a Fusion Rifle should be more than adequate to get the job done.

Shattered Shards: Lost in Prophecy

For this quest, we recommenddefeating Phalanx Echo, the first boss in the Prophecy dungeon. A couple of Guardians usingLord of Wolvesshould absolutely shred him.

Alternatively, you canrepeatedly farm a Lost Sector(with Powerful Taken) until you are done. Afterward,visit Drifter in The Tower.

Shattered Shards: Innermost Power

For this quest, you will need todefeat Hive or Taken using Abilities.

Prismatic,Stormcaller,Arcstrider, or a Titan build usingHeart of Inmost Lightshould easily get the job done.

Vengeance Quests

Lastly, in Act-III, grab another set of quests (Vengeance Quests) from theShaping Slabin Eris’ Apartment.

Mission Dossier: Witch’s Gambit

This quest requires you to uncoverthree secrets in The Dreadnaught,complete The Nether, anddefeat 100 enemiesunder the effects of a Corrupted Boon – while walking thePath of Resolve.

Mission Dossier: Sibling Squabbles

You will need to useVoid/Strandto defeat Hive enemies.

Weapons likeGraviton Lanceor builds usingNezarec’s Sin,Swarmers, etc. are good for this.

Mission Dossier: Blade Logic

This quest requires you todefeat Taken anywhere in Solusinga Swordora Glaive.

We recommendfarming any Lost Sector in The Dreaming Cityusing a Glaive until you are done.

Writ: Heir of Nothing

You need todefeat 10 challengersin theCourt of Bladeswhile walking the Path of Ambition.

You will also need tospend three Tier-3 Stolen Runesthroughout the activity.

Writ: Bloodied Blades

While you are on the Path of Ambition, you will need todefeat Hive enemies in The Netherusinga Swordora Glaive.

Since you can easily run out of Heavy Ammo,we recommend sticking to a Glaivesince themelee does not consume any ammo, and it works with Exotics likeSynthoceps,Winter’s Guile,Wormgod Caress,Triton Vice, etc.

Writ: Misguided Vengeance

For the last quest, you will first need todefeat Lucent Hive on Savathun’s Throne Worldusing Solar / Arc.

Once you are done, you will need todefeat Elite Hive anywhere in the Sol. We recommend flying to the Moon and farmingAltars of Sorrow, as there are a bunch of Elite Hive enemies in this activity. Lastly, return to the Shaping Slab in Eris’ Apartment to complete the quest.
